Private Cabanas at Magic Kingdom: Last Day to Rent One - February 17, 2017

If I were at MK for NYE I would most certainly book one. If they had these at Epcot Id switch my plans and get one and go these for NYE. Im sure by next year these will be more money for NYE but I want a few drinks and a good reataurant on NYE and so does my family so we wont be at MK.

My park time is too valuable to spend sitting in a tent. I think it's a fine idea and people will book them. I just think they look pretty pathetic inside to pay that much money. If they looked like castaway cay cabanas, then I'd understand the cost and expect them to book quickly. These tents just don't look appealing.

Does anyone know a ballpark figure of the number of benches that have been removed from the parks?

So you have no actual input as to why someone wanted one; yet quoted me.

I don't care how anyone spends their money I was asking what would attract them to this specifically.

Spend your money how you want - I just wanted to know what attracts someone to this product.

To some people it isn't a whole lot of money. For a private space to call their own in the middle of their favorite park, with seating and shade, I know this will be popular.

I would hope to not get flamed here, but I booked one for this Sunday.

We have a short trip planned, arrive Friday, leave Monday. Fundamentally it's a total splurge and the cost is pretty laughable even for Disney standards, but I'm intrigued by the parts of it that can help subtly maximize our time, such as having a potentially semi-quiet spot where DS could maybe take a quick nap (vs going back to the resort), the reserved parade/fireworks viewing, etc. The other amenities are a nice perk. We aren't park commandos and enjoy a more leisurely pace actually.

Will make sure to report back on our experience.

Again, no flaming please, we all do Disney in our own ways!
Flame you? Are you kidding?

I want to go with you. We pull in on Sunday, but we won't be at Magic Kingdom until Tuesday. If our family were larger, we would book this.

Saw them yesterday. I thought it was a special event. They were over in tomorrowland by the face painters and toilets. Glad to know what they are. If they throw in massage therapists I might consider it. Snacks and couches? Not a chance.

I called today to inquire about NYE at both MK and EP. I was told there was a "strong possibility" they would be available at Epcot by NYE, and they took my info and said they would give me a call in the event it becomes available (this is WDW-PLAY, not the regular dining number or guest services number, and I've had very good experiences with them actually calling me when things like boat rentals and fishing excursions become available). They did have availability for MK for NYE, at the standard price (no holiday up-charge like firework boats, etc.), but I opted not to book as I prefer to do NYE in Epcot. I also asked about how they control guests, etc., and I was told I needed to have a guest list to them two days before ... I guess for the ears, and so each member of my party could check in individually? Apparently, upon check-in, guests will be given a wristband to allow access to the area. They are good for EMH as well, and I was told they do feature heating/cooling depending on the weather.

If these become available at Epcot, I most definitely will book one for Marathon Sunday at Epcot.

Also, I see no difference in people trying to find "shares" for these like they do for fireworks cruises.

@Keels Thanks for the detailed info.

Edit: Figured out my own question. Thanks again!

These are at MK and food and wine is only done at Epcot

There are rumors (fairly valid rumors, if WDW Play is taking phone numbers and calling people back when Epcot Cabanas open, as a PP in this thread said) that this will be expanded to Epcot if the MK test pans out. According to that PP wh spoke to WDW-Play, quite possibly in time for NYE this year.

I'm kind of interested in these...anyone know if they'd be able to be used during parties too? If we could get reserved spots during parties I'd really consider it. I called the WDW-Play and received the 45 minute hold time and opted out for now.
