Hi,
I have read stuff on this site about priority seating.

Could someone tell me

How this works?
Do I really need to bother?
Are there any places that offer this that you really don't want to miss?

I never knew there was so much planning involved in a holiday!!

thanks
Lynne

PS is a must at busy times, but recomended at all times really.
Character meals are the most difficult to get at short notice, all meals can be booked 90 days in advance.

PS's give you a time which you must be at the restaurant for, however, this does not mean the table will be ready (and rarely is), you checkin with the cast member and they reserve you the next empty table (obviously if people are already waiting then they are before you in the queue). You usually get seated within 5 - 20 mins of your PS time.

What not to miss is difficult to say without knowing who you are travelling with. My kids (4 & 6) love Crystal Palace, AK Character Breakfast and Cinderellas at GF

Hope this helps

I'd say the bigger the party/family the more need for doing PS.

I've found I don't need to bother so much from mid September through to Thanksgiving and then between Thanksgiving and Xmas.

Also beginning of May is usually a good time when PS aren't that necessary.

All of the above said it's only the 2 of us and that usually does make a difference.

I think its worth making a PS regardless of whether its busy the time of year you go or not, especially if your children want to dine with certain characters.

Personally we love 1900 park fare at the grand floridian, the hotel is fantastic, and the cararcter interaction is great, book for breakfast 8.00 and you will virtually have the chararcters to yourself.

As other have said..........it all depends on when you're going and how many in your group.

We've walked into SciFi , Mama Melrose and others at 9 a.m. and booked lunch/dinner the same day ........ in October - early december.

It could be a different matter in peak season, if there's any particular place you MUST eat at, then I'd say make your PS as soon as you can rather than run the risk of disappointment.

During a recent trip I made 2 P.S. 1 was for Christmas day and the other was for Crystal Palace. I dont tend to like the fuss of having to make plans for which park which day etc. I tend to call on the morning of when we will be there and have always found what I want but then again we are flexible on time.
