Priority seating for September? Seven or not?

We are going to OKW from Sept 11-16. We have a party of seven and 1/2 of the party may not eat out every night. We already have PS for 3 on the 10th for those of us that arrive first and PS for Chef Mickeys breakfast for a party of 7 on Tuesday. We are doing Hoop Dee Doo Tuesday night.
My question is 2 of us are definitely eating out every night but what should we do about PS? Should we call and book everywhere we want to go and try to make it for a party of 7 and cancel some if the others decide not to go? Or should we wait and decide there? Seems to me that in all the years I have gone to Disney it is getting harder and harder to get into a restaurant of choice as a walk up.

We were at WDW last month and saw many people turned away from just about every restaurant. Others have speculated that it is probably because of the dining plan. I would not even try any of the popular restaurants as a walk-up unless there were only two. For larger groups it is almost impossible without reservations. If two of you are definitely going to eat I would make those reservations and let the rest take care of their own. If you make a reservation for seven and try to change it to less people they will cancel your reservation and start over. You may not get the same time or any time at all at that restaurant. If you have a reservation for 7 and only 3 show up I don't think they will be very happy.
This year a lot of people are reporting here on the DIS that they only way you can be successful without reservations is if you get to the restaurant the moment they open and eat at that time.
