I am trying to do my priority seating for my trip 9/30-10/5. I wanted to do a dinner package so we would have perferred seating for fantasmic. The question is now that we have the dinning plan can you use that or do you have to pay seperatly to get the perferred seating. I do not see it listed in the plan.

The official word from Disney is that you cannot use the dining plan for the FDP but I have seen some people here get lucky with a CM who will accept it.

With things being free during Aug-Oct, I would imagine the rules will be enforced with more gusto on the scheduling end. I also think there will be a huge surge in CMs trying to help you go the extra mile to up the the bill and hence the tip.

I know this is going to saound really silly but is Fantasmic somewhere to eat? If so can anyone let me know what it is and where? Thanks! :earsgirl:

No question is silly. Fantasmic is the very popular evening show at MGM. Read all about it right here.

The Fantasmic Dinner Package is a prepaid meal at a selected MGM restaurant that also gets you a seat for the show in a reserved section of the Fantasmic Theater. You can read more about the package on the link provided above.

Best wishes -

We were there in April, and were able to use the dining plan, at Mama Melrose- 1 credit each, and no extra charge.

I went, planning on paying out of pocket, but just asked the server if we were able to use the dining plan. It was a great bargain.

It depends on your server.

I have the DDE card, and they are not supposed to give the 20% discount on the Fantasmic! Package. We ate at Brown Derby, and one member of the party ordered alcholoic beverages (which are discounted in the DDE) so we included our card in the bill to save a dollar or two. Imagine our delight when she came back and had taken the 20% off the whole bill!

However, don't EXPECT this to happen - as someone described above using the Dining Plan (different from the DDE), go prepared to pay for the meal and be surprised if they do it and consider it a bonus.

Good luck!

WAS THAT WITH THE PREFERRED SEATING FOR THE SHOW OR DID YOU GO IN WITH THE GENERAL SEATING?

We still got prefferred seating, even w/ using our dining plan for the Fantasmic package. As I said before, though, Don't plan or count on it. I have read several posts where people were allowed to do so. Good Luck :goodvibes

Now I just hope it will work the same for the Candlelight processional, when we go in December, but I'm not counting on it
