Printer suggestions?

My sister-in-law bought us a printer for Christmas last year, bless her heart, to go with our new computer. She bought us a Kodak ESP 5.

I know she meant well, but...well...It stinks. The paperfeed jams, it's LOUD, it's slow, and worst of all, it runs through ink cartridges like you wouldn't believe and the print quality for pictures and all my Dis stuff for our trip is horrible.

What printer do you use? I'm looking for good reviews here within a reasonable price range. We had HPs in the past and never had an issue with them, but anyone have any other suggestions?

I use the Kodak ESP 5 and love it!! And Kodak has been so helpful....sending me free CDs for updates since I have dial-up and can't download usually. Also sending me FREE printer head replacement! I don't have trouble with the jamming and don't find my printer any louder than only other ink jet...

Also, any ink jet will go through ink quickly when you start doing lots of transfers or other DISigns....

Maybe I just got a dud...Problem solved, though. I picked up an HP today, and the Kodak has now been demoted to a back up printer should this one fail.
