Princesses, Jedis, and Wizards...Oh my! (My first trip report)-UPDATE 10/13

I have officially hit the point where all I can think about is Disney, so I thought I would try this as my Disney therapy. I am going to try to figure out how to post pictures and link things, so I apologize if there is a learning curve.

Our Spooktacular Disney Trip is from 10/19 to 10/28. We are spending the first couple days at "The Park That Shall Not Be Named" and then be at Disney starting on 10/20.

Here is the cast of characters...

The Grand Supreme Princess of Awesomeness...the Lilinator...the Lilypad herself...

This little dynamo is a 4 year old firecracker who is sassy and as fresh as the day is long. She is also incredibly kind and funny and makes our world go round.


Her long suffering parents, myself (Sarah) and my husband (Mike). A picture of us back on our first trip to Disney World when I was 22 and he was 23. That was, let's just say, more than a couple years ago.

Halloween is one of my absolute favorite holidays. We are doing the MNSSHP on 10/21 (which also happens to be my birthday!) and I have been getting so excited for our costumes for the event.

My Mom is an amazing seamstress and has created this beautiful dress for the

So we have decided on a theme and so I will be the Evil Queen, and the Mike will be Dopey.

I got out my handy dandy sewing machine to try to make a good Dopey costume. Wasn't sure how it was going to go since I didn't really have a pattern, but I like how it is working out. I need to go out this weekend and get all the finishing touches to make it really work.

For myself, I ordered this dress and am waiting to get it. If it works (i.e. fits), I will either make or get myself a cape and crown to go along with it.

We are making final ADR decisions. Our focus was completely on character meals because Princess L loves her some princesses.

Here is what we have booked so far.

Dinners:

CRT (right after BBB)

Breakfasts:
Akershus
Tusker House

Crystal Palace

Some things are so up in the air. I hate that there is still no announcement about whether Frozen Summer Fun is going to continue into October as that will make a difference in when we do everything. Not sure if both CRT and Akershus is overkill, but I know she loves the princesses, so we are thinking about keeping both.

Day 1: Plans

We are flying out of Providence at 6:55am on 10/19. We are trying to maximize the time we are spending at Universal while only staying at the resort for one night. We decided to stay there to get the express pass and to get into the park an hour earlier the following morning.

We are trying to figure out how to tell Lilypad about the trip. We have been making her save money by doing chores and behavior rewards. She gets "coins" for these things and saves the money in a bank. I am thinking of doing something where the money gets taken and leaves a ticket in its place. Still haven't figured that quite out. The problem is that we are already waking her at like 4:30 in the morning so I don't want to make her upset if she is already emotional from having to get up early.

Once we arrive, we are getting a rental car and heading right until Universal. We are thinking we will be at the park by noon, so I am trying to figure out how to structure our plans. We are getting the 2 day park to park pass.

Would love suggestions on either of the above things if anyone has ideas....

I don't know if she'll like this, but ... how about giving her a letter from Mickey Mouse saying that he's excited to see her (or you could do this with her favorite character) and explaining that you've been having her save money for the trip ... so rather than taking the money from the bank, you can ask her to give it to you. Maybe that would be less likely to make her upset.

I can't help with the Universal stuff ... I haven't been in a few years.

Just have to AW the dress I put together for HS one day. Mike is a super duper Star Wars fan and we have been getting Lily excited to fight Darth Vadar at the Jedi Training Academy.

10/21 (Tuesday) - MK all day + Halloween party (built in the option to go back to the hotel for a few hours if Lil needs a nap)

10/22 (Wednesday) - Late start post party - HS in the afternoon including Fantasmic

10/23 (Thursday) - MK (EMH) + Bibbiti Bobbiti Boutique, Evening at DTD

10/24 (Friday) - Epcot

10/25 (Saturday) - AK

10/26 (Sunday) - MK

10/27 (Monday) - HS

10/28 (Tuesday) - MK until early afternoon when we leave for the airport
