Princesses don't hit, kick or spit! A May/June TR Update 10/17 Snow White Theme Night

CONGRATS on the new family member! Our "puppy" just turned two in June...she was from the Mid Atlantic German Shepherd Rescue (MAGSR) group. I didn't see Lincoln listed so I am guessing she was from a different German Shepherd Rescue group but that's AWESOME! We only have rescues or strays in our family...I am just way against paying for animals from a breeder when so many animals out there need homes! Way to go! :thumbsup2

Very cute puppy!!

My SIL is planning a short trip to WDW for her DH's 50th Bday in early Dec. We are invited as we are the other Disney lover's in the family. But her kids are in college and DH feels weird leaving ours since they are still small. But hopefully if we can get a sitter and if we have the funds, we'll be able to join them!!;)

I know what you mean about being eaten out of house and home when the kids are home all summer--I feel like I'm always at the store restocking!!

Congrats on the new puppy - a great addition to the family! :thumbsup2

:woohoo: on having a new ticker and being able to take an adults only trip!

Ohhhh..Puppy kisses are the best. He is so cute. And I also want to thank you for getting a rescue.

I'm so impressed you found seats for everyone in Sunshine Seasons. We have the hardest time finding a table in there.

Where are the dolphins in the Living Seas pavilion? We looked everywhere for them in March, but couldn't find them.

They were out of Beverly when we were there, so I am hoping to get my girls to try it on our next trip. ;)

Congrats on your adults only trip to Food and Wine! I would love to do that (and stay in an Epcot resort :rolleyes1)

Tourin with 16 people... Sorry but 1 mango marg would not have been enough for this commando girl...I would have needed the entire tequila shot flight yo myself and the marg (and I know what splitting a flight did to me last summer...3 cabelleros was amazing and while I know I went to Norway next I have no memory of it... Except for a great tingling feeling...:lmao:!!!

Love the sambro hat pictures... Note to self take a few ourselves!

Believe me I had another drink that day:thumbsup2 I do need to find out about this tequila shot flight though!

cute puppy--enjoy! We got a puppy about a month ago and for the first couple of weeks, it felt like a full time job. He's settling in now though and we just love having him around!

Congrats on the upcoming trip! I'd love to go with just DH, but he's not up for that yet--I'll probably have to wait until the kids are in college!

I do feel like I just brought home another baby! We've gotten puppies before but never this young.

I never thought I'd get DH to agree to a couples trip but enticing him with his favorite park Epcot plus good food and drinks helped!

Lincoln is ADORABLE :goodvibes

I love Disney in October...I think that is a great idea for a trip without the kids

Thanks Shannon! I am really looking forward to October, question is now, do we even think of doing a MNSSHP without the kids? ;)

Congrats on the new addition to your family. They are such good dogs.

I went for food and Wine festival alst year with my girls and we had the blast. It was nice to use all our snacks around the world. I would love to do it with DH alone some day... maybe when the girls are a bit older as I would hate to leave them home for a week with grandma. the guilty side of me can't do it. I was suppose to go away with my sister and 2 weeks later my sister and I decided that the girls were going too because Disney is not the same if they are not around

Although there are moments where I could feel like I could send my kids away for a month, I could never do a week away from the kids, that's why we're only doing like 3 days. But believe me there will be plenty of mommy guilt since we are at the kids favorite place! A couple of drinks at the F&W festival should take care of that:rotfl:

Congrats on the new puppy. It's funny because we just got a new one too and I was going to post it in my TR :goodvibes Just haven't gotten to it yet!
Yours sure is cute!!!

Yay for a new ticker too! Hope it works out!!! I would love to take a F&W trip with just my DH!!

Oh, you have to post pics, what kind did you all get? It's funny because in our court we now have 4 puppies so Lincoln will have some buddies to play with!

We did get Lincoln from the MAGSR! He is still on the site right now but listed as Pip, he was one of the 7 puppies they just got. He had a sister at the foster home he was at and it took all my strength not to cave and get her too! We had a dog who was half German Shepherd half Lab that we got from the SPCA when my oldest was little and he was the best dog. Unfortunately he passed away a few years ago but when we decided to get another dog we wanted to get another shepherd because of how great they are with families.

Cute puppy! I LOVE his name, too!

Thanks, I tried so hard to get the guys to agree to a Disney name but they were totally against it :(

I never thought I would take a trip without the kids but we have only gone away a handle of times and those were just over nights so my DH feels like we are long overdue for a few nights away. Also I would never do a trip if I wasn't going to be taking my kids somewhere for a vacation as well. We are already planning on getting a house at the shore for a week next summer so they will get a vacation. I have neighbors who go to Bermuda every year and leave their kids with their grandparents, thats the kids only vacation all year, a week at the grandparents :sad2:

Congrats on the new puppy - a great addition to the family! :thumbsup2

:woohoo: on having a new ticker and being able to take an adults only trip!

Thanks, with the exception of my lack of sleep, the puppy is doing great!

Ohhhh..Puppy kisses are the best. He is so cute. And I also want to thank you for getting a rescue.

Thanks, we only do rescue dogs, too many out there with no homes for us to get one from a breeder!

We spotted the one dolphin swim by on the tail end of the Nemo ride, then he was in the tank when we got off. I've seen them before in there on past trips too. I love dolphins as do my kids, we've spent countless hours watching them at the National Aquarium where we have annual passes to.

Well I left off with DH's DC and I trying to track everyone down so we could all be at the host stand in Biergarten to be sat. It took a few minutes but we were able to get us all there, they handed me the buzzer and said it would be a few more minutes. By the time we had parked the stroller and got our stuff out they were ready for us. We had 2 tables side by side on the top level on the left side of the stage. Not a great section to watch the band or have easy access to the buffet, we've had better in the past but at least we were all able to sit together!

As usual the food was good, my grandfather was German so every year we would go to local Oktoberfeasts so I really like German food. Everyone enjoyed the food, except the German meatloaf, I didn't taste it but my poor Christian said it was disgusting, it kinda looked like spam so I passed:rotfl: The only issue that I had was the lines to the buffet were always ridiculous, I am always in charge of getting the kids food so I have to make several trips to the buffet and it just seemed to take forever!

Once the band started up we didn't see Ben and Emily anymore, they were down on the floor dancing their butts off. Ben may not have the best balance because of his physical issues but that kid sure can dance!

We all left completely stuffed, did a little shopping, looked at the trains for a bit and made our way over to Italy.

I loved the pink sword and sheild, kinda kicking myself for not getting Emily them!

We spent a good amount of time in Italy, although my DH doesn't really look it he is 100% Italian so everyone was looking forward to getting here.

We continued our way around WS, again not really doing too much. I didn't get alot of pictures because I felt bad everytime I would stop to take a pic the whole group would stop and at that point I just wanted to keep moving. I knew we'd be back so I didn't feel a huge need to take my usual 500 pictures!

Here's a few that I did get

I did insist that we make one stop:thumbsup2

I look horrible but you'll have to excuse me it had been a long stressful day at this point!

Continued in next post

The rest of the group wasn't going to stay for Illuminaations but changed their mind at some point so we started looking for spots around 8pm. We found a handicapped viewing section on the right side of Showcase Plaza and beside a little ways away there was enough space for everyone else. To be honest I was looking forward to having a little time with just my people. Since we had a while before the show, DH stayed with our strollers and the little guys and I went over to look into getting a Duffy Bear. They had been checking them out all day and Ben and Emily wanted to use some of their money to get one.

Yes they both choose the sailor outfit :confused3

We watched Illuminations, loved it always!

After the show we made our way out of the park, I actually liked being on this side of the park because we are always so tired and the walk out wasn't so bad. We had to stop at guest relations on the way for DH's DC to add a couple of days to his ticket, they had so much fun they decided to come back later in the week. Much to my joy there was no mention of meeting up with us :woohoo: We made it out of the park, said our goodbyes and headed back to Pop, where we had quite a surprise waiting for us :rotfl2:

I love, love, love Illuminations also!!:lovestruc

You know those baby animal stuffies they sell all over the parks? Well, my DD7 and DS5 both chose the simba ones! So I know how you feel having identical stuffies!! But they love them and still play with them even a year later, so I guess it worked out!:thumbsup2

Can't wait to see what the surprise is!popcorn::

I admire your will to get everyone together for dinner and I am glad to hear that it paid off in the end!!! Looks like you had fun at Biergarten and the kids looked like they had fun dancing with the show going on!!! :goodvibes

That slushie was a well deserved drink!! I can't wait to see Illuminations, I have skipped it the last couple times, I need to find good viewing spot options !

Surprise? Uh oh .... hopefully a good one!

And I sat at the same table you did at Biergarten. I was in the last chair, on the railing, so it was kind of a stretch to see the show ... and there was NO ONE else there! There was maybe 4 tables filled with people. The rest were vacant ... so I'm not sure why the bad seating. :sad2: I was in charge of kid food as well, so while there was never a wait, it was a nice little trek on those exhausted legs. :lmao:

Can't wait to hear more!!!!!!

Oh that is awesome! I did think about the fact that you may have renamed the puppy...as we did ours. She was SLIDER...adopted Sept. 2009...you can find her here: Our MAGSR puppy

I thinks that's great and they are a great organization...but yes it was a lengthy process with referrals and home checks...but I think that's a good thing! Do you know the name of the foster mom? Just curious if it was the same as ours...they were great! Congrats!

Love the pink shield, may have to keep an eye out for that when we go!

With kids so close in age I sometimes have to buy both of my boys the same thing so that they don't fight over it, we have alot of identical toys around my house!

The Grand Mariner slushee was definately a good call for me that day. :thumbsup2

You can't leave us hanging now. What surprise??????

I'll be back on tonight once the kids are in bed and finish up our day. I'll tell this though, some of you may find it gross, others may find it hilarious like we did!

Surprise? Uh oh .... hopefully a good one!

I can't imagine why in the world anyone would get sat up there if there were other tables available :confused3 I guess to make it fair so that all of the servers get tables bbut it wa a horrible location. The last time we were there we were front and center right beyond the stage area. Speaking of exhausted legs, my feet were hurting so bad that day from blisters that I ended up switching into my flip flops that I had thankfully stashed into the stroller. A great tip I read on these boards, to switch your shoes midday!

Love the pink shield, may have to keep an eye out for that when we go!

They had them in both Germany and in Norway!
