Princess Phoebe's Pre-WISH-Trip Report (arriving in MK 4/17/10)

Oh you guys are going to have to beat the boys off with sticks with Tessa!

Thankfully, Tim has a service weapon he can display when the time comes. For now, she can and will fight them off herself. :lmao:

The girls stuff looks great and Tessa looks amazing in her Minnie dress. In the words of Mya, "She Cute!!!" then "I want that!!!".

I like how Mya thinks. ;)

I am just in "awe" at the amount of love and caring that goes into these Big Gives everyone is getting.

I'm in awe as well. It reminds me that this trip really is special, not just another vacation.

Just one piece of advice..keep posting each set of pics as you open the package..it'll save you a LOT of time and effort later..believe me! :rolleyes1:

Not that you had much choice, but yes I plan to stay on top of it all!

It'll be here before you know it!

It's been a long wait for us, since getting approved, but yes, it finally feels like it's just around the corner.

Happy Valentine's Melissa, Phoebe and Tessa! :flower3: I have no advice on a camera but Congrats!! on getting a new one and getting to do what you love.

Thanks Jennifer! I'm so excited. I have always loved photography since I got my first Kodak disc camera around age 9. I'm dating myself. :rotfl:

Hi! I have just caught up on you pre-trip report. I am getting so excited for you! April will be here in no time. Your girls are so cute! Tessa has the same hair as me. My hair is pretty long. I use Nexxus Humectress Ultimate Moisturizing Conditioner and Nexxus Therappe Luxurious Moisturizing Shampoo. They are probably not good for the little one but maybe good to keep in mind when she gets older. I also do not put any oil on my hair really. When I do, it is just a very little of Burt's Bees organic Lemon Oil (which is great for everything) I use a lot of Burt's Bees products! I don't relax my hair, I just blow it out. If you google Dominican hair care they have some good info on curly hair care. But...Tessa's hair looks great! It looks darling in all the pictures. Phoebe is so cute I can't wait to hear about more of your plans!

Hi Nichelle! Welcome aboard!:yay: As you can tell, this is a pretty girly thread, and the couple of men here are very tolerant of all the hair talk. Your hair is beautiful! I'm surprised that you only have to blow it out to get that length. Someday when you leave it curly you'll have to share a pic. ;) I'm happy that Tessa's is finally long enough to start styling a little more creatively. I remember using Nexxus a while back and liking it. I also like Burt's Bees but haven't tried any of their hair stuff. Hmmm, another one to sample. I did get some of the Carol's Daughter products as Dina suggested and I like the hair milk and the leave-in conditioner but not so much the butter. It's a little too heavy for her hair. Based on the price of the other products I've tried I might just go back to ordering my fave from Taaliah Waajid's line, the Protective Mist Bodifier (basically a leave-in/milk) for daily combing and styling but try some of the other brands for oils and such. I'm always up for trying new stuff though, as long as it is natural. When she's old enough not to *drink* the bathwater anymore (I swear she's part fish) I can try adding in some more salon type products. Thanks for sharing your faves.

yay on the new toy!!! I have a Canon Xti and LOVE it. Definitely get it before your trip. You are going to be amazed at all the fab pics you'll get. And since it's digital, it's way more kid friendly!!!

I have never owned a Canon but I do think I am leaning that way for the next one. I will go check out the Xti right now. Thanks!

I just bought the Canon 50D for my business. I haven't used it that much yet but from the little use it takes really nice pics. As you know, lenses are the key whether you are going Canon, Nikon, or other. Do you have any lenses from your old cameras?

My 35mm is a Nikon with a Nikkor lens which could be put on a Nikon digital but I don't believe it would have any auto features. I'd have to do everything manual if I used that lens. (I believe) My medium format film camera would not be compatible. I have heard nothing but good about Canon and like what I've researched so far, so I am leaning that way. If DH can use his work as an excuse to collect guns, I suppose I can use my work as an excuse to collect cameras. :rolleyes1

Tim called finally. He's fine. It was hard to talk because the reception is really bad where he is. I'm just glad to hear from him.

Phoebe got sick for some reason tonight. Hoping it was a fluke. She went to bed early and Tessa and I stayed up and watched movies and had popcorn. Phoebe's out of school all week. Hoping they both sleep in tomorrow. Yeah right!

Hi Melissa,

I guess since we post on everyone else's PTRs, I thought I'd pop over and get to know you better over here :)

I need to get lunch on over here, but will be back this afternoon (while you're sleeping) to get caught up.

Good idea! I know I've glanced at your PTR or TR a few times. I lose track. I'm usually the last on on here, being on the western half of the US and a night owl. It's a horrible habit to break and I regret it every single morning!

HA! That sounds just like me!! Sheesh, you'd think I'd have way more sense, but there's always oooooooone more post, right?? :lmao:

I love having the West Coasters for my evening entertainment- and the East Coaster night owls- lots of fun chatter there.

I'll have to say your girls are truly blessed! 2 parents who obviously adore them noodles out of them, and who work hard to keep them healthy and comfortable.

Your ADRs look great! I'm pretty sure the Biergarten's music starts around 1:15, so you're good to go there. You may have figured that out already though. :confused3

Do hope you can get your camera of your dreams before you go!! And yeah, of course you can get one if that's your business! ;)

The BIG wish gifts are TDF :-) So Awesome.
Just wanted to say hi..I was just reading your PTR.
(((((Hugs to Phoebe))))) I hope she is feeling better..

Okay.

I have a fun Digital Camera I got for my birthday last year that I love love love! You can set it to manual setting and slow the shutter speed down and almost make it pretty close to being an SLR...just not.

But I have used an SLR in a photography class I took last year. I really liked it. I'm not sure if the have the updated one. But this Nikon was one I used last year like I said. And come to think of it I used it this year for a class for work. http://imaging.nikon.com/products/imaging/lineup/filmcamera/slr/f6/index.htm. I didn't really get to play around with it tooo tooo much but it took nice pictures. This one would work better for the Wedding pictures but I think the Fuji could work just fine with the proper lighting.

However my heart belongs to the Fuji mainly cause it's mine! But take pictures for what I need it for. http://www.fujifilm.com/products/digital_cameras/s/finepix_s2000hd/.

Ha! We need to go out and shoot pictures! :woohoo:

I'm so glad you finally heard from dh, as I'm sure you were! Sorry Phoebe isn't feeling well and hoping it's just a "passing through the night" thing. At least she doesn't have school this week. I'm with you on the sleeping late thing, but it doesn't happen here very often either!

That's one reason I like being in the west, I feel "done" each night when there are no new posts. :lmao:

We feel blessed to have them! We waited years for them. :lovestruc

I don't think I ever read a time, just that they were usually there. I would have been bummed if we went and there was no music. I am still tempted to try some of the others that are raved about here, but I think they are probably just too fancy for our kiddos.

Do hope you can get your camera of your dreams before you go!! And yeah, of course you can get one if that's your business! ;)

I definitely plan to do some serious shopping!

ooooooh, the minnie outfit is sooooo cute!!!

I know, right?!?

:welcome: Lisa! I'm glad you started a PTR too. Everyone here is so helpful and supportive and FUN. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the recommendations! I have had a great experience with my Nikon, but I'm feeling tempted to join the ranks of Canon lovers. No decisions yet though. And as for the Fuji, I really do need a new point and shoot as well. Not sure on my price range for that one yet, but I will definitely check out the one you have. Let's go! Field trip!;)

When she's on vacation I usually put Phoebe in my bed and it seems to help a little. Maybe an hour or so later. Funny thing is that when Daddy is home and asleep in the bed with her she'll sleep in way late. I guess he's more fun to snuggle with.
I think he felt bad about not calling for 4 days, so he did make sure to call again tonight, but the reception was horrible. Worse than last night. He's in the middle of nowhere, so I finally told him (three times before he heard me) to be safe and hang up. LOL

Just had to add my 2 cents about the Nikon, Canon debate. I own a Canon, not a DSLR, but the SX10 IS. My Dad owns a DSLR Nikon, and has owned Nikon for his last 2 cameras. I have owned Canon for all of my digitals. We compare photos quite often and print a lot of our stuff. (he has a great Epson printer that will print to 13 x 19)

Anyway, I am getting too long winded here. The point is that we both love our cameras, and each others cameras. You can't go wrong with either Canon or Nikon.

The one thing that we have noticed is a difference in how they handle colour. The Canon always seems to have nicer skin tones, and handles reds much better, whereas the Nikons have seemed to handle blues and greens better than the Canon. Therefore, I think we both have the right camera for our purposes. I take lots of pics of my kids, and Dad is more of a landscape/scenery type person.

Edit: I meant to add. You should check out this web site for very comprehensive reviews before you buy.

So glad they chose you to photograph their weddings. It sounds very exciting. I am clueless when it comes to camera's. It took us quite a while to choose the little point and click camera we have now :rotfl2:

Im sorry Pheobe isnt feeling well. I hope she feels better today. Im glad she is out of school all week so she can have time to feel better.

Im so glad you heard from your dh. I would be very worried too. Big hugs to you all this week!

Field trip! I'm gonna hold you to it!

I'm glad your DH got to talk to you! I know it sucks when family is gone. I hate it when DH is gone! The house feels so cold and dark and the puppy isn't enough company! I hope your DH gets to come home soon~~!

Thanks for the reviews of your cameras. It means so much more to hear personal opinions than to read technical reviews. (Although those are important, so thanks for that link!) I know that different brands of film have a huge difference in color tones. Interesting that you feel your digitals do too. Good to know! (And I, also, have no complaints about my Nikon 35mm. Great camera and company)

I don't know what was wrong with Phoebe the other night. She was fine right before and right after getting sick, so it was certainly a fluke. Thank goodness!

He comes home tomorrow! Yay! I have to admit it's easier to keep the house clean when he's gone, but we all miss him.

I'm sorry that Phoebe is feeling under the weather. And, I'm glad you finally heard from your DH - I would've been freaking out! As for the camera debate, we recently bought a Canon Rebel EOSi, and we absolutely love it. We're still learning the ins and outs of it, but it is so fun to use. It's probably a little "less" than what you're looking for, as we are far from professional photographers, but I thought I'd throw in a plug for Canon anyway.:rotfl:

Your ticker is at the two month mark!:cool1::cool1::cool1:

Good morning! I just wanted to pop in and thank you..AGAIN! For helping me get the outfits worked out last night..I had been stressing over that a bit, and talking about it helped a lot. Now it's one less thing to think about. I'm thinking that's a good thing since some idiot talked herself into taking envelopes this week :rolleyes1: I did only take 500, but I'm wishing now I hadn't even agreed to that! Anyway..

Hi Melissa!!

I'm just getting caught up!!! LOVING the Big Give outfits and toys!! My fav is that Minnie Mouse...it was the bloomers that got me!!! Adorable!!

Two more months!!! It will be here soooooo fast!!

It was fun chatting. We hadn't done that in a while. What were you thinking on those envelopes!?

I know! I'm so excited!
She tried the dress on for Daddy today and twirled around and around in it. princess:

Enjoying all the news as I do all the catch up I have here! Such cute outfits!

How's the camera search going??

I got your PM and I didn't write you back.:sad2: We'll send the girls a card when we are in WDW. :thumbsup2 If there is anything in particular you want on the card just let me know. :goodvibes
