Princess Phoebe's Pre-WISH-Trip Report (arriving in MK 4/17/10)

You girls are welcome :goodvibes Thanks for sharing the pics we love to see the kids smiles! Caitlin started reading MAW trip reports last year and felt moved to get involved with the Big Give and invited me along. She knew about the Candyland connection and thought the game might be fun :)

That Minnie dress is so cute! :cutie: Tessa looks adorable!

I love the outfits!! What great idea for the candy land game! Yay for the Big Give!!

I love how Tessa was "climbing" into the box:rotfl2:

LOVE  the Big Give pictures! I'm so envious! We've got the boxes, but can't get into them until the 26th! Tessa and Phoebe both look like they were enjoying it, even if they were ready for bed! The Big Givers are so awesome! :woohoo: Thanks for sharing!

Oh you guys are going to have to beat the boys off with sticks with Tessa! She looks sooo cute in that Minnie Dress! I love it! I'm glad the girls had so much fun opening gifts!!!!

The girls stuff looks great and Tessa looks amazing in her Minnie dress. In the words of Mya, "She Cute!!!" then "I want that!!!". Can't wait to see more as you get closer. Only 2 months!!!

Wow, three days in a row of Big Give packages arriving! I think the girls are getting spoiled and will have a hard time adjusting back to "non-spoiled" life. :rotfl: When Tessa was one yr old we started house hunting, model homes, resales still being lived in, etc. She got quite used to walking into strangers homes over the course of the next year and a half. I've tried explaining the danger to her, but then Halloween comes along and she thinks it's okay again. She has been known to walk into our neighbors homes and they are learning to lock their doors! :lmao: So I think every time we say we are taking a trip she is going to think that magical fairies will shower her with presents.:sad2: I explained again tonight that this trip is special because it is Phoebe's wish. It's hard to explain why Phoebe gets a wish, when the words don't even make sense to me, but I tried. Without any further ado, here is tonight's fun-filled package from Lynn (Cajunfan). There were so many packages inside the box, it really did feel like Christmas!

Thankfully Tessa can read her name and Phoebe's name, so she knows right up front which ones are for her and which ones aren't.

Thankfully Phoebe doesn't mind little sis helping her with hers. This is an adorable set of Princess cups. Tessa exclaimed "a castle!" because of how they stack up to look like one.

Tessa had wrapping paper flying. I seriously had several pictures of wrapping paper because it was being thrown at me. She loved all the little goodies in this tube.

She loved the paddle ball toy because it reminded her of Wall-E. I vaguely remember Wall-E playing with one. Tessa squealed Wall-E!!! even though it is a princess picture on it. :rotfl:

I have to admit I was even excited to see my name on one of the packages! I got a Tiana tote bag, some princess pens and notepad. (Perfect for me because I am a major list-maker!) Since Tim is gone until next week I figured I'd let Tessa open his, but she said no, we had to wait. Then when I was helping Sally get Phoebe in the tub, Tessa changed her mind, opened the package and started playing with it. :sad2: It's a cool lantern that you can assemble out of glow sticks. Tessa only snapped about three of them and there were two packages so I think we can still make it work. Tim loves assembling things so he'll have fun with it. He's been known to play with the kids Christmas toys long after having assembled them. :lmao:

The whole she-bang...stickers, key chain, nightlight, coin purse...wow.

Thank you so much for all the goodies Lynn! We really got spoiled tonight.

I am just in "awe" at the amount of love and caring that goes into these Big Gives everyone is getting. What a wonderful thing. And to see the smiles on these wonderful kids and thier sibblings  gosh I just dont know what to say but how precious this is.

I love that Tessa helps Pheobe when she wants her to. That is just awsome. And the faces on both of them every picture is precious. I love the gifts too! hugs to you all on this board. Its a wonderful thing!

I got shots of the jammies from Dawn and Caitlin tonight. They fit perfectly. It's been so cold lately it's hard to imagine how nice these will be in just a couple of months! Thanks again for the very thoughtful gifts!

Oh! And I had to take a picture of this and share it. Tessa got into the paper dolls and apparently decided that they were already adequately dressed, they just needed a little bling. :rotfl2: I love the shoes in particular. It's a good thing we don't own a "bedazzler". ;)

YAY For more Big Give packages! :cheer2:

The girls look adorable in their jammies :cutie: Thanks for sharing :)

I'm just getting caught up! I'm sorry about everything you've been going through and the last minute road trip, but glad the seabands helped Tessa. Very cool that the Big Give packages are starting to arrive! Aren't the ladies (and gentlemen) fabulous? It's so exciting when a package rolls in..since we've been home the past couple of days the latest question is "was there any mail for me?" LOL. Just one piece of advice..keep posting each set of pics as you open the package..it'll save you a LOT of time and effort later..believe me! :rolleyes1: So glad I can get back to following everyone's trips!

I forgot to tell everyone....while visiting with my relatives last week I confirmed with two of my cousins, both engaged and planning weddings for this year, that they will in fact "hire" me to photograph their weddings. I am excited for several reasons, mainly that I will get "my feet wet" again (it's been over 3 years since I shot my last wedding, basically since we moved) and also because they agreed to pay me so I will be buying a new DSLR camera! My current pro-camera is a medium format film camera and it takes gorgeous photos, but it is pretty costly to use on a wedding where I need to take hundreds of shots. So I told both cousins that I am willing to give them my time and energy free, but if I shoot film it would cost at least 300 and if I shoot digital I need 300 each to be able to afford the camera before their weddings. Both agreed that it was still a great deal and that they like my style and want me to shoot. So, YAY for a new camera! Hopefully I can decide on one before the trip!!! (hint, hint, any hobby or pro photographers please let me know what kind you have if you like it, or what kind you would get if you were buying one soon....)

Hey Melissa...

Welcome back!

Hooray for the Big Give!!! (love that Minnie Dress)

and yay for the new camera (as well as the opportunity to play professional photographer again)

It'll be here before you know it!

Happy Valentine's Melissa, Phoebe and Tessa! :flower3: I have no advice on a camera but Congrats!! on getting a new one and getting to do what you love.

I remembered that today is V-day, but I totally spaced as far as doing something fun for the kids. oops. Maybe I can come up with something quick!

Haven't heard from DH in 4 days. Hoping he lost his phone or something. We've never made a big deal of V-day, but a phone call might be nice!:sad2:

Quote of the day:
Thanks Mama! Thanks for wiping my butt.

So who says motherhood is a thankless job? :rotfl2:

Don't feel bad, didn't do anything for Mya either and had all intentions to but she spent the weekend with her cousins and that was really all she wanted anyway.

That is too cute and funny.

Hi! I have just caught up on you pre-trip report. I am getting so excited for you! April will be here in no time. Your girls are so cute! Tessa has the same hair as me. My hair is pretty long. I use Nexxus Humectress Ultimate Moisturizing Conditioner and Nexxus Therappe Luxurious Moisturizing Shampoo. They are probably not good for the little one but maybe good to keep in mind when she gets older. I also do not put any oil on my hair really. When I do, it is just a very little of Burt's Bees organic Lemon Oil (which is great for everything) I use a lot of Burt's Bees products! I don't relax my hair, I just blow it out. If you google Dominican hair care they have some good info on curly hair care. But...Tessa's hair looks great! It looks darling in all the pictures. Phoebe is so cute I can't wait to hear about more of your plans!

yay on the new toy!!! I have a Canon Xti and LOVE it. Definitely get it before your trip. You are going to be amazed at all the fab pics you'll get. And since it's digital, it's way more kid friendly!!!

I just bought the Canon 50D for my business. I haven't used it that much yet but from the little use it takes really nice pics. As you know, lenses are the key whether you are going Canon, Nikon, or other. Do you have any lenses from your old cameras?
