Princess Peanut's WISH Trip CWF/GKTW Pre-Trip Report! *We're HOME - Pg.37*

Hi Kristy, You have a beautiful family! I am glad that Peanut is getting her wish and can't wait for you all to have an amazing Disney World trip!

Where in Ontario are you? I am in Rochester, NY so not too far away!

Looks like you have some great plans, looking forward to continuing to follow along!

Awe, thanks! :thumbsup2 I got their hats/mitts at Children's Place, of all places. They get compliments on them whenever they wear them. CWF booked that for her, I believe its one of the top packages that she is getting. Our trip co-ordinator asked us if there was anything specific that Peanut wanted to do, and since she doesn't know much about Disney (other then that the Princesses and Mickey/Minnie live there), I answered for her. I know that she would LOVE BBB, so i'm quite excited about that. As for World Showcase, is this a place in Epcot? Hopefully we can still go the Character meals, like i've mentioned before it depends on what they tell us with regards to the cost for Peanut.

I used to shop at Childrens place all the time until Megan grew out of their stuff a couple years ago....I miss their cute stuff!!

Yes World Showcase is in Epcot....its the back part and usually doesn't open until 11:00 so you'll have time for your breakfast....their are some character spots around that too....usually Marie from Aristocats and Belle, sometimes Beast will be in France....Jasmine & Alladin in Moracco, Mulan & the little dragon, can't remember his name in China.
plus doing the KidCot is fun for the kids....has coloring stations in each country and they can get their papers stamped, you can also buy a Epcot Passport, the CM's will stamp those and usually write something in their language in them...plus they love to be asked questions about their homelands!! and the Flower & Garden Festival will be going on, so lots of topiaries and flowers will be there for great photo ops!

Thanks for the parade & fireworks information. I know we want to see them for sure, the kids would just love it. I knew I could just ask once we got to GKTW or the parks, but i'm a planner, so wanted (errr, needed? ;)) to know now. :rotfl:

No probs! It's good to plan ahead that way you won't miss what you really want to see. There's so much to see and do at disney you'll never see it all in one trip so pick which rides etc are most important to you and do those first. Everything else can wait for your next trip plus it's a great excuse to go back ;)

HELLO! :upsidedow Thanks for following along, WELCOME!! We are closer to Detroit then Buffalo, but we aren't that far from you.

Thanks for the great information, I love having all these little tidbits to bring along. It will definitely help us out. I want to make sure the kids have a blast, so all of these tips are great! :cheer2:

Here is some more....have the kids look at all the attractions, rides and shows, have them each pick out 3 or 4 from each park they MUST do, hit those first and then if you have time, add in any other things you want to see or do....that way, everyone will get to experience their favorite thing.

try to have a little down time in each park, find a bench in the shade, get a snack and people watch, its quite entertaining and a nice way to rest up!

did you get a WDW book of any sort??? it will have lots of stuff in them too, plus the kids will have fun looking at them.

we've used the Unofficial Guide to WDW and also Passporters WDW book!

HELLO! :upsidedow Thanks for following along, WELCOME!! We are closer to Detroit then Buffalo, but we aren't that far from you.

Well we do go through to Michigan (Sarnia/Port Huron) frequently, as my son is going to school in East Lansing, MI and it is the quickest route. Have lots of family in the Detroit area too, so have made trips through southern Ontario many times in my lifetime.

I loved what you wrote about the Beauty & the Beast show. Now THAT is the true magic of Disney. Melts my heart. I hope we have some speical moments like that.
You DEFINITELY will have LOTS of special memories!!!! :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc
And thank you, we are keeping our fingers crossed for some news about the US really soon too. I have to call her GI doc next week, as he wanted us to call him every 2 weeks so he can push the Government. I hope you guys get some information about your trip soon. I can't remember, are you waiting to find out dates? Or have you put the trip on hold. My memory these days...:rolleyes1
LOVE the photos, especially of you and Peanut! We had to put our May trip on hold due to medical reasons...it WILL be our turn someday....:goodvibes

Thats cool, we go to Detroit often for shopping. Can't beat the deals sometimes. lol!

Its hard to get pics of Monkey these days, he does not like to sit still for pics, or hes a goof ball - ha! Now that I think of it, there is one of him and I on my other camera. I'll have to get it off one of these days. That pic of me and Peanut was from Valentine's Day, she is such a cuddle bug these days. :lovestruc Do you have any idea of when you can go? Is there a second set of dates in the works?

I loved Monkey's pics as well, he is a cutie and he and Peanut are such an adorable pair...I just thought what a special picture that was of you and Peanut...I would blow it up, you both look so sweet and cute together! I would love to see the one of you and Monkey as well..often us Mom's aren't in the pic, so it is VERY special when we are!

Peanut and Monkey are the best of friends, it just melts my heart to see them together. It is so hard to get pics, I am always behind the camera - which I love. But its nice to have some pic of me and my babes.

And, since you asked so nicely (don't mind me, I've taken better pictures, lol). ;) We took Monkey out for lunch one day when Peanut was in school. He loved it!

Awwwwww such a cute pic of you and Monkey!!! :lovestruc

so cute!!! love his eyebrows, so expressive!

I didn't see this until just now. Ooops. :rolleyes1 We don't have any books yet, but my friend is at Disney right now, and is sending me her book when they get back. I think its the Unofficial Guide, but i'm not 100% sure. We haven't told the kids yet about the trip yet. But we will be spilling the beans soon. Truthfully, the kids would point out everything they see and say they want to see it. Its too funny. We know what they would like, and I already have a running list of things in each park I know they would love. If we get to them all, great. If not, at least we did some of them. You are right though, hit the must see's first. I'll have to prioritize the lists, thats for sure. And the rest can just fall in place. This is why we want to do 2 days at MK, there just isn't enough time to do it all in 1 day. I am going to have to ditch one of the Character meals though, because its just going to be too much $$. One day pass for the 4 of us is brutally expensive, gulp. T-Rex is probably the easiest one to ditch since its not a Character meal even though the experience would be cool. I am not doing any cancelling though just yet, I can do that pretty late in the game. My husband loves to "people watch" as he calls it, so he'll have no problems sitting and resting a bit. I know the kids will need it, especially Peanut.

Awwwwww such a cute pic of you and Monkey!!! :lovestruc

Thank you. :lovestruc

so cute!!! love his eyebrows, so expressive!

His eyebrows crack me up, thats just the way they are. No matter how much I try and smooth them out after his bath, this is just how they are. Meh, its him and they suite him. You aren't the first people to comment on them though, lol. ;)

Alright, so some more planning questions...Are there parades/fireworks every day/night at MK? What are the normal park hours for MK? My friend told me they are open until 8 every night, but on the Saturday we are there, the website sais it closes at 7pm. Also, what about the day parades? What times are they? There are a few I think - "Celebrate a Dream Come True Parade", "Main Street Electrical Parade", "Move it! Shake it! Celebrate it! Street Party". And does HS and US have parades of any kind? I know someone mentioned on here about on at HS, any times? Fireworks at HS, is this every night? What about Fantasmic, is there a schedule somewhere for when this happens? What about Wishes, when is this?

And shows, any suggestions on good ones? These are the ones I have on my list to see...Any good ones we are missing?
- Voyage of the Little Mermaid Show at HS
- Beauty & The Beast Show at HS
- Disney Junior Live on Stage Show at HS
- Dream Along with Mickey show in Fantasy Land

I asked once, but didn't really get any replies. We have Sea World schedulde for one day. Would you do that, or make that a beach day? I know the kids would really like Sea World, but I think they would also love the beach. Of course, we can't decide 100% until we talk to her Dr about it, but I wanted to get some opinions on it. I was thinking Coco Beach, which is about an hour away I think.

I ususally use this site right here on the DIS for park hours and parades/fireworks times at each of the Disney Parks:

The dream along with Mickey show in front of the castle and the move it shake it street party go on several times per day and we find that they are not difficult to hit by accident through out the day. Not sure if others have had the same experience though.

I don't have any real experience with Florida beaches, so can't really help out with that. I love animals, so I love Sea World, but I guess it just depends on if you would rather have a more relaxing day at the beach vs doing another park day.

The little Mermaid is kind of dark and scary, but if your kids are okay with that it is a good show. Beauty and the Beast is great. I haven't done Disney Junior, but when it was Playhouse Disney my DIL said it wasn't that great.

We love Mickey's Philharmagic 3D at MK and the Muppet 3D at DHS. If you are doing Animal Kingdom, The Lion King and the Nemo shows are both really good.

These are all just my opinion, I am sure that other's may vary. Hopefully others will chime in to offer their views.

for all times, go check the disney website....the park hours change from month to month and week to week depending on the "season" most parades are at 3:00 or 3:30, I think the AK is at 3:35 sometimes MK will run a parade later too, Disney Electrical parade will be after dark too, just before Wishes which is happening at 10 while we are there...Fantasmic is usually at 8:30 though sometimes they will run a 10:00 show also during peak times, but it doesn't run every night

as far as the show's we love Beauty and the Beast, Little Mermaid was a bit intense, so if you do see it sit farther back in the rows...Megan loved the Playhouse disney show when she was little, so I would like the kids would too!
Dream along with Mickey is on the castle stage I think it plays a couple times each day, very cute, lots of characters!
I also recommend the Lion King and Nemo shows in AK they are wonderful!!!

since your friend is down there now, have her bring back a park schedule and maps!

can't give you any advice on SeaWorld, only been to the one in San Diego, but was a lot of fun especially if the kids like sea creatures....the beach is wonderful too, would give you a great break from the running around in the parks!

FYI - didn't know you hadn't told the kids yet....my note says to have fun on the trip, so don't know what you want to do about my package...

Thanks so much for the link, I haven't seen that one yet. :) And thanks for the information on the shows. I appreciate all your opinions, I want to know what to see or what is not worth seeing. We aren't going to AK, just not enough time. I haven't heard the best of things about that park, so i'm not too sad about missing out.

I didn't even think to ask her about bringing back a map. D'oh. Thanks for the information too, I appreciate it. :)

Oh no worries, we are planning on telling the kids this week. :goodvibes Especially with you know what ;), i'm not really sure we would explain that one off. I have their countdown calendar already made, I just need to have it printed. 2 weeks until they get to start that! :cool1:

I guess once we talk to her Dr about weather or not she'd be able to swim at the beach, we'll be able to make a better decision. If she can't, then that solves the dilemna. Maybe once we tell them, we'll show them the Sea World website and have them decide between that or the beach. I still need to talk to hubby more in depth about it too. And really, since its on our second last day, we may not decide until then. You are right, the kids may need a more quiet day after such a busy week, so the beach might be the best option. We also have to see how Peanut tollerates everything, so how she feels will have a huge impact on what we decide.

You and Monkey are so cute together

I think Sea world and the beach were my kids 2 favorite days. We all loved sea world. Cocoa beach was beautiful but it was a good hour away.

Of course both those days were the best, and those are the two we are trying to decided between.

We haven't done too many shows, so I am not a huge help. But like I said, the Playhouse Live was awesome!!! Philharmagic is really great too, one of my favorites in MK. And like others have said, Move it Shake it is easy to catch (but honestly, I wouldn't make an effort to see it). The parade at night in MK is fabulous though, worth seeing and the kids will love it!!! Try to go to Frontier Land to watch, less crowded and places to sit. Also, one money saving tip, bring your own glow bracelets and necklaces. They sell them everywhere at night but are so pricey. We brought our own!!

I haven't been to Sea World in ages!!! We have it on our list for when the kids are older. Beach sounds great too. Really depends on what kind of day you are looking for. If you want to relax, I vote beach. Sea World will be more of an active day, just like the WDW parks so that is the difference!

Did you hear if you would need to pay for Princess for those meals yet?! I really hope you don't and no cancellations needed. I would hold onto all reservations till the last minute if I were you!!!
