Princess Half Marathon Weekend 2025 (Feb 20-24 2025)

Hi! Today Im starting in corral G with friends (usually have the people of mind of corralB clubRD, then bit streessed but hopefully will keep the pace)…

Question pls… if projected start time is 550am, up until what time would be safe for me to go put of the corral for the portapottie? 530ish?

Thanks!!
530 should be plenty of time. They get much less crowded once A and B start.

Was the line for castle photos ridiculously long for everyone else? @superchime and I ran through MK together and were gonna stop but the line was literally down the bridge to Tomorrowland. I know I’ve only done two other races that run through the castle but I’ve never heard of that happening before, the line always seems to go so fast!

I didn’t PR but I had a really great race despite what seemed like way more course crowding than usual. I felt really good at the end of the race and kept doing my intervals all the way through. Plus I caught up to @superchime right at the MK theatre and it was so fun going through the park together!

We got in line and it went to the edge of the hub, and was to where you mentioned once we left. It did go fast! But they were letting people do multiple photos (regular and jump and single and group) which I’ve never seen before. Once one person starts that it continues down the line…

I was wondering if that was the issue. They’ve always been so good about rushing through, and runners have also been good about being quick. They need to add that to the etiquette checklist they always send out!

I don’t think you would even need to add to the list, a CM directing traffic would be able to tell people to make it quick and keep it moving if they wanted to, they’re pretty good about vocalizing instructions in what can be a chaotic space (I’ve accidentally gone the wrong way on the way out though 😵‍💫). If they don’t do that, the photographers keep shooting, AND everyone else sees the people ahead taking several photos, then yep you’re going to get a big line.

There were little to no lines for the castle pic when I got mine. I didn't pay attention to the other lines, but the photographer for the one I got into took one pic and said I was good. I was in the second wave of D so maybe that's why I didn't see much crowding? Even the path from the Poly to MK wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. It sure was dark, though!

I ended up PRing my half time by almost 10 minutes! I definitely wasn't expecting that or for my recovery to go as smoothly as it has. Usually, my quads are super done, but I've had no problems descending steps or squatting.

Did anyone else notice how HUGE the photo galleries were on rD's official Facebook page for this weekend? There are like 120 photos per race! They did a smaller set on IG as usual, but it definitely appears to be something they are trying specifically on FB. It makes sense -- more faces = more engagement from those who make the gallery.

It gives me hope for finally making one! (Or setting me up for even bigger disappointment - LOL)

I took my castle photo at 7AM for princess, out of wave 2 of corral D (5:15). Only waited 4 minutes despite long line. Averaged about a 15:00 pace going to MK. There were a few tight spots but a majority of the course was clear enough to run as a group of 2. Would be tough for a larger group to run together but no issues for most part with 1-2. I was expecting far worse from what I heard about later corrals over MW. (And perhaps it was worse out of E/F/G.) We had to walk for like a minute or two by Poly due to the congestion but it cleared out quickly. We didn’t have much trouble on the path to MK from GF thankfully,

I just looked and over marathon weekend during the half, my photo was at 6:37 out of wave 2 of corral B (5:09) with no wait at castle. Averaged about a 12:00 pace going to MK. It was more crowded in the first half at Princess since I was starting a few minutes later and going slower but overall not as bad as I expected.

The character waits were rough at Princess out of D and running slower compared to when I start out of A/B and run quite a bit faster. I was disappointed that almost none of the lines got shorter for us during the half, other than maybe Mrs. Incredible. If you like character photos and are close to a POT, it is so worth training to get one as the difference in line length is crazy. I was impressed how quickly they started the corrals though, I was expecting to wait forever in D and was surprised to be going at 5:15.

Overall this was my first princess half, and first Disney half not starting in a POT corral. Everyone was so nice and I didn’t experience any diva behavior I’ve heard about. Of course there were a couple people being a bit rude about shouting “RUNNERS on left” or passing walkers at a super fast pace on the right when there’s room on the middle or left, but those were not common. There were clueless people maybe walking a bit more to the left than they maybe should have but I don’t think I encountered many groups doing that, mostly solo people, so it was easy enough to get around people. Worst case we walked a moment then started running once any congestion cleared up. But it was never bad and no big deal.

I have always worried about dropping back corrals but it went better than I expected and I was worried for no reason. But I did miss the short photo lines, I won’t lie!

Yes, I saw this! DH and I appeared on the FB/IG posts in our Mulan costumes and I noticed that FB featured a lot more pics--they were great. I would love to see your pic @The Expert one day! 💜

DH (Corral A runner) dropped back to run with me in B--we went out with the first wave and made it to Cinderella's castle by 6:05am with just a couple stops along the way--when we arrived, there were no lines and few runners (so I was grateful) but I did notice that the photographers were letting runners do more than one pose...so I could see this creating congested lines as the morning went on. I didn't think my neon green tinkerbell was that bright but it showed up that way...LOL!

I hope everyone had a great race weekend--it's always hard getting back to reality. :-)

I filled out the “are you missing photos?” online form…
Has this happen to anyone before? Anything else I could do to get them?
Thanks
