So my daughters are signed up to run this race, which I wholly support. But I just looked at the Disney site to find out about resorts, and it looks like there are no discounts for staying on site with this race.

I am thinking about the Swan or Dolphin as a possibility. I know the race starts super early -- how hard would it be to get to the race start from the Swan or Dolphin?

There are no discounts available now, but if any are going to be offered for that time period, they won't come out til October (usually). So don't give up hope yet.

As for the Swan/Dolphin.....there will be bus transportation to the start. You will NOT be able to get to the start through Epcot/Intl gateway. Buses leave starting at 3 am or so.

Thanks for the reply. I will keep watching for discounts but I'd like to have back-up plan, too.

It's too bad that you can't enter through the back of Epcot, but I guess that would be extra work for Disney. The two things that still make me think the Swan or Dolphin might be better than, say, Coronado Springs or another moderate (which is my budget range) are 1. Even if the girls have to take a bus, the bus ride will be relatively short, and 2. They could walk back to the hotel after the race - although maybe not, if the World Showcase doesn't open until 11 or 12 . . .

Surprisingly, the miles in bus are similar for the Dolphin vs the C Springs; or at least close enough so one would not notice. With regard to walking back, Futureworld is not open for many runners. If one can get into the park, the CM will allow folks to walk back to I Gate.

Oh, look at Mouse Savers and sign up for her newsletter. It helps take some of the worry out of the watch.
