Princess Gabby's First Trip to her "Happy Place" (new installment 10/1/10 pg 5)

Great photopass pictures! I love when they do the special effects like tinkerbell. It makes for such a great picture!

SHe looks a little unsure because this was the first one.. I knew what to expect from reading here on the DIS but she had no idea!!LOL we have a ton of Tinkerbell picks because of all the days we went to MK..lol

All of the photopass pictures are great! I love it when they superimpose the characters into the pictures. Gabby looks so sweet holding Tinkerbell.

Isn't it just the coolest thing when they do those special poses??

Yay! Gabby's first ride at Disney was on Dumbo! There's no better ride I can think of. You can tell she is having a magical time just by looking at her smile.

I can't believe that the teacups had a zero wait time. Lucky you!

Riding Dumbo, the Teacups and eating in the castle was all that she would talk about when she said she wanted to go to Dinsey(before she knew about the trip) so I had to make sure those were some of the first things she did. We rode Dumbo so many times this trip. Dumbo holds a special place in her heart, I am guessing because it is her first ride, we bought her a Dumbo stuffie(for a surprise) while we were down there and she sleeps with that and her Minnie every night!!

The Teacups never had more than a 10 min wait our whole trip!!

Please forgive me if some of my pictures seem out of order..i am trying to post from my camera and the photopass pics(and my dad’s camera AND a disposable)
After we came out of Mickey’s house we hit the line for the Fairies, the wait was abt 20 mins.

So we hoped in line. The lady at the front told us that Tinkerbell was running late and not here yet, but Gabby still wanted to go in.
The line actually moved pretty fast! I was glad Gabby did not notice that there was also a line for The Princess’ because I had a surprise for her later!
So we got up to the front and then we were shrunken down to Fairy size and in we went. Now I noticed it was only 2 Fairies and I remember reading that they will give you Fairy wings in a picture(super imposed) when there are 2, so I asked the photopass person. But when I asked I got tongue tied and could not think of the name and I was bumbling asking the photo pass person.. and I said something like “umm the special things you put on pics”..he was being a real snot and said..well we already shrunk your daughter down to fairy size what more did you need”.. I was taken aback and looked at T to see if he heard and he had but he gave me that look to let it go..so I did (till we got outside and I vented to him)
The Fairies more than made up for it and they spent a good amount of time with Gabby chatting…

First up was Fawn.

Then we went to Iridessa
She was excited to see her picture

I thought this was a great picture spot..This one did not come out that great but I got a better one later in the week

Even guests were commenting on the shirts and books and asking where I bought them and Gabby or Trevor would pipe in and say that I made them..that made me Smile and feel really appreciated!
Only a mom would notice that!I did notice that her pants were hanging sometime during the day and adjusted them(I love the little tabs inside you can adjust them with because sometimes she has trouble with belts)
I don't know what was up with the PP guy..he knew what I was trying to ask but decided to be a snot!I am glad I did not let it ruin my day, because I have a tendacy to do that!

WOW I can't believe I am not even finished the first half of the first day

I wanted to share some non trip stuff with you guys.

First, We signed Gabby up for acting class, she starts this Friday. She is soo excited!
I am hoping this class will help her with her following directions, also she is starting a new school next year so this will give her practice in joining a group of people she does not know and having to work together, also boost her confidence.
I want a lot from one little ole class huh??

The class is 7 weeks long and they will have a production at the end!!

Also, we gave my dad a formal retirement party and I wanted to share some of the pics from that.

Lastly
I know this is super last minute but my family and I have decided to walk the in the Susan G. Komen 5k Maryland Race For The Cure.* We will be walking in memory of my Grandmother, Sarah Lee, who was a Breast Cancer Survivor.* The walk will take place on October 3, which coincidentally is my Grandmothers birthday, so this date holds an even more special place in my heart.**

Oh my goodness, reading your TR has me tearing up! That picture of you hugging Minnie is just the most beautiful picture! I want to frame it and put it on MY wall, it makes me so happy looking at it! That's what disney is all about. And the ones of Gabby and the fairies, you can just see how happy she is!!!

SO sorry the photopass guy was rude to you. That is my biggest pet peeve, when people are mean to other adults for no reason. It happens all the time, but it just makes me so angry. Don't yell at other people like that when they've done nothing wrong!

Those characters at Crystal Palace were certainly brave! Didn't you say your DH is like 6' 7" or something? If I'm tigger, I am certainly not sneaking up on the biggest guy in the whole building! I'm glad they did though, it sounds like it was a great time!

Dumbo is an amazing first ride! I'm so glad that she loved it! I'm also glad you got to toontown before it closes. So good to make memories while it's still there!

What a beautiful dress, and a beautiful family you have! Congrats to your Dad!

I hope Gabby likes acting classes and that they accomplish everything you are hoping they will accomplish!

When we left out of the Fairies we took a seat on the benches and had some water and just rested for a second. Then Gabby and I went in to Minnie’s house to look around, Trevor stayed on the bench because his knee was bothering him.Here are some pics

I offered to take a pic of this guy and his daughters at the gazebo and he was gone so fast after I gave him his camera that I could not ask him to take one of me and Gabby!!LOL

After the house tour we collected Trevor and then went to the Barnstormer. I took this pic and also facebooked it and twittered it.. Couldn’t believe the posted time was that short and by now it had to be about 11 or so. Gabby asked me to take this pic of her, even though I told her she was way tall enough..I don’t know why she has this sad face..lol

The actual time was even shorter than the posted. When we walked through the whole long cue, we walked right on to the ride. Trevor decided to wait this one out because the cars were just too small for his legs(he is 6’10). Gabby had a blast!!

After that Gabby wanted to play in the Toon Park. I was not going to let her because it said was for kids up to age 5 and there was a bunch of little kids and she is so tall even though she is only 5, I did not want anyone to say anything to her. I decided to let her play, because it is not her fault she is tall but I did caution her to watch out for the smaller kids.

While I was sitting there someone approached me..it was BETH from the July boards on DIS. She had noticed my shirts!!Remember the guy I was talking to when I was waiting for Toon Town to open?? Turns out that was her husband!!!LOL We chatted for a bit and then took this picture. When I went to sit back on the bench with T, he asked “Why didn’t you just ask me to take a picture instead of you trying to take it yourself”…I just burst out laughing because I HAD NO IDEA!!!LOL

After that we walked around Toon Town a bit and hit the bathrooms and water fountain before we left.FYI I think the tall one here is the coldest in MK!!!

After we left Toon Town we went to the carousel. Gabby Tried to pull up the sword…..No luck!! The last picture with my camera for the morning.

Then Trevor rode the carousel with Gabby..I only have this one picture of them on my cell because my camera was acting wonky; it kept cutting off, at this point I am ready to cry because I think it is broken.

I see Mary Poppins and Bert start to line up for pics and I am like oh no I have to get a picture of Trevor because MP is his FAVE!!! He and Gabby watch that movie all the time!! So I run into the little shop and buy a disposable camera that costs like 500 bucks..the girl is super nice but is like taking FOR EVER to ring it up. When I finally got back outside Trevor and Gabby were off the ride and I could see that Trevor was consoling Gabby. I went over and she ran to me, she said she thought I has left them… silly girl!! Told her what I was doing and she was ok.
We got in MP line which was very short, I have some pictures from that camera but I need to scan them and I didn’t want to hold up the report so I will post them as soon as I get them posted.
The meet was too cute! Gabby outted her dad and told MP that she was his favorite and he blushed and just broke out in a smile…Gabby handed MP her book and told Bert she was sorry that she did not have a page for him but could he please sign on MP’s page.. Bert said he would be delighted!!They talked about some more things and then Gabby took a picture and then told T to get in the picture with his “FAAAAAAvorite” she drew it out just like that..like in a teasing way…too funny!!

As we were leaving, Gabby told Bert.. and don’t climb in anymore chimney’s..he laughed so hard over that and told her he could not promise.

After that we went to Philharmagic and saw that another show was going to be starting in 5 mins so we went in. Gabby was not happy about all the people bunching in and asked T to pick her up. Pretty soon we were going into the theater. The show was awesome!! We all loved it!!.

We left out of there and was going to go to IASW but the posted time was like 1hour and Gabby didn’t want to wait. We sat on the rocks that are a little past there so I could look up and see what time Tiana was going to be out. Side note..That Disney Parks app from Verizon WAS AWESOME!!! We used it so many times during the trips, for maps, park times, wait times, show times and most important Character meet times and locations!!
It said that her meet time was about to start so we walked through Liberty Square to the Christmas Store… They had put up ropes because a parade was going to start so we had to do some creative ducking and dodging to get across. When we go there, there was not that many people in front of us and The princess had just come out.. Gabby was starting to fade so I picked her up and put her on the wall and put the motoroized fan on her. She asked for ice cream and I told her that after we got of line we would get her some.
Pretty soon we were up in line. Now it was my turn to get embarrassed. After Tiana and Naveen ooohed and Awwwed over their pictures in the book. The prince got down on one knee was talking to Gabby while Tiana was signing. I heard her tell him that I thought he was dreamy…lol and my turn to blush..lol They took some pics and then I jumped in for some.

After that, we were on the search for ice cream but got stopped at the parasol cart. We put in an order for Gabby to get one and went to the Columbia Harbor House since I knew it was close and Jessica(Jc040404) and her family always goes there. Before we went in, I asked a guy that worked there if they sold ice cream and they said yes so we decided to eat there. Once we were in though, we found out they did not and Gabby was not happy but we promised her we would find some.
So we ordered, I had the fish and chips, I can’t remember what T and G had. Trevor waited for the food while Gabby and I found a table upstairs. The first table at the top of the steps in the corner was empty so we nabbed that one. Pretty soon T was upstairs and we ate..we talked about the day and that since we were coming back that we would get ice cream and head on back. We sat around and ate our food, relaxed and people watched for a little bit.
After we left CHH we stopped and got Gabby’s parasol..it was too cute!! And then we started off down Main Street.

Gabby stopped for a min to play with the trash cans that were putting out bubbles. We stopped at Ice Cream Parlor for Trevor and Gabby to get some ice cream(Ice cream messes with my tummy sometimes and I did not want to chance it!!) Gabby got an ice cream cone with two chocolate pieces in it that looked like Mickey ears and T got mint chocolate chip cone. The nice lady inside asked if I wanted her to take our pics..so she snapped a pic of us and we headed outside there was a chair and table right outside that was empty so we grabbed those and sat down while they ate their ice cream. We put the little fan on the table and turned it on and it was a nice little relaxing treat.

Gabby and I took a couple of PP pictures on Main Street as we were leaving.

Once we got to the bus stop,the bus was already there. **Side note.. We had THE best time with buses.. We only waited a long time at Epcot. The location of our stops were the best..always one of the first ones you come to when you exit the park(except epcot)
When we got on the bus, there was one other couple from NJ on the bus, after abt 5mins, the bus took off. Trevor and I talked to them all the way back, Gabby slept..lol
We got back to the room and I went to look for the other camera battery that I had and thank God the camera started working. Turns out I had just ran the other one down, I was soo excited about being there and I was scared that I was going to miss something that I kept turning the camera on after it would self turn off so that I could be ready to take a picture. I called my mom to check on her and find out if they were coming back to the room. She said they were at Animal Kingdom but was staying the whole day. She said the boys were having a blast and that Mikyle(the oldest) said it was the “the best day of his life”. She also said that they had talked her into getting on a ride..WHAT?? My mom is so not a ride person, in fact I was shocked that she was even at the parks! Had my sister been able to go, my mom would have been at the mall someplace!!LOL.. but she said she was glad that they did because she found out that she would not get sick and had fun ** Side note..the last time we went to WDW(1994)my mom got on the Teacups with my Godsister and Sister and they spun that thing around so much. We I came back to the room she was laying down with a wash cloth on her head, and the lights were dim. She said You will never guess what I got sick on, I was naming all these big rides and she was like NO THE TEACUPS..well I cracked up and that has been a running joke in my family since then***
Then we took of our clothes and all laid down to take a nap. We had to make Gabby lay down she was up and raring to go after her little nap on the bus.
I did not sleep long so I got up and got Gabby’s surprise together for that night.
This is what would be waiting for her when she woke up.

It was a Minnie Doll in a Cinderella Dress and an invitation to Dinner at Castle that night.

Yep, T is 6'10!!LOL when we met Goofy and I Tweeted/Facebooked that he was taller than him, my friends made me take a pic to show them!!LOL

Minnie's house looks like fun! I could imagine that your DH would not fit in those tiny little cars on the barnstormer! I would think that a lot of rides are too small for him, being that tall! Does he duck on space mountain? Because I duck on space mountain, and I'm 5'2"!

HEY you!!I am sorry I was trying to get out a big update since I had not posted in a while!I can't believe all that was only part of the FIRST day!I still have a bunch to post about the evening!I can't believe we got so much done on that day!
We never got to ride Space Mountain unfortunately but I am sure that he would duck..he has to duck in alot of places!!Yes that Naveen was actually a little crazy because he looked soooo much like the cartoon, I kept staring!!LOL
The kids in the playground looked so small I was scared she would run over them, but her little face when I told her no-I could not take it!!LOL
Thank you for saying that about me in the pics, even though I HATE just about everyone of them!!LOL
