I have not been on a Disney cruise before. My DD is 4 and LOVES (and I mean L-O-V-E-S) dress ups. Between Halloween, birthdays and Christmas, she has accumulated the following costumes: Minnie (one pink and one red), Sophia the First, Elsa, Rapunzel and I *think* she has Belle (not positive). Do any of the little girls dress up in their dresses during the cruise? I hate to bring them and waste space, but if other kids are wearing them and we have them at home, sitting in the closet (or toy box) then I will feel bad.

Totally, yes, little girls wear their princess dresses onboard! (And if I could find it, I have a cute picture I took on one cruise on the way to dinner of just this.)

Oh, yes, little girls where their princess dresses to dinner and character meet and greets during the entire cruise. She will not be alone.

We bring three each cruise. One for semi formal or formal night, the other two for each of the princess gatherings. Be sure to bring the accessories too if you have them. A CM with a cart full of accessories pulls up right next to the line as your wait for the meet and greet. The prices on board are almost double.

We also pack her princess nightgown (that looks like a costume) and slippers for the Pluto pajama party.

DD's costumes take up more space than DH's clothes for the whole trip lol.

My daughter will be taking a maleficent costume, Elsa, pirate and little mermaid costume for a 4 night cruise lol. I made most of them. The only bright side of it is her suitcase will be really light cause they are all tutu based LOL. I will be packing regular clothes as I suspect that after dinner she will want to go to the kids club and I doubt she will want to be in costumes for that.

Just bought my DD her 1st Disney Princess Dress (w/shoes & tiara): Anna! (And it was on sale!) Can't wait to see her face when she sees it! :yay:
She'll wear it on our upcoming DCL cruise on Dream in April. Hopefully, she'll meet "Elsa & Anna"... Perfect photo op!

For sure. It makes for a great photo op. See my avi there was taken on the Dream. :)

Definitely! And the crew will call her "princess" when they greet her too. On our Fantasy cruise, my dd was the first of our family to walk into our MDR on formal night. She was all decked out in her Cinderella gown and had her hair done at BBB that day. The first server saw her walk in and declared "a princess is in the house" and they all applauded her. Dd was positively beaming!

And when the little girl is dressed as Queen Elsa, they call her Queen instead of princess (both at the parks and on the boat)!

I take 3 - 4 princess dresses for my niece. She wears one every night other than the formal and semi formal nights. She also wears them for the princess meet & greet. I think she'd wear them all the time if I allowed it.
Your daughter will fit right in.

Enjoy your cruise.

We're taking a couple on our trip. (We're also going to be a WDW before we sail) A formal gown for the formal night, a pirate costume, and we're hoping we'll be at WDW during a MNSSHP. My daughter will be 9.

Absolutely, YES! Bring as many as you can pack, and (assuming you sail Disney again) bring them for as long your daughter wants to dress up! Here's a helpful hint: fold them nicely and put them in a gallon size ziplock along /w a few matching accessories. Keep everything flat and squeeze all the air out- you'll get a wonderfully compact stack of dresses. Also, always keep a "spare" dress in your purse/bag when you're out-and-about on the ship. You never know when you'll see a special character and want to throw a princess dress on for the photo op!

Yes definitely! My daughter brought her Elsa and Anna (her coronation day dress) costumes and we bought her a Jasmine in Magic Kingdom. She wore Jasmine costume multiple times and her Anna coronation day dress when she had her photo with Elsa and Anna. Everyone was calling her Princess, and she loved the attention!

Dress-up is the norm. Some women bring their tiaras for formal night.

We were just on the Magic a few weeks ago. My four year old twins dressed up a lot, as did their six year old brother. We did Elsa, Anna and Kristoff for the meet and greet and pictures. We did Belle, Tiana and a generic prince one night and, of course, we did pirates one night. For formal night, we did actual dress clothes with a little tuxedo for my son. The dressing up is almost the best part! The only thing I'll do differently is have the girls wear proper shoes with their dresses. The plastic play shoes were impossible for them to walk any distance in. Whereas with the Frozen costumes, one girl wore boots (Anna) and the other wore little blue Mary Jane like shoes (Elsa) - much better.

I also folded and rolled the dresses and put them in zip lock bags along with a smaller bag holding accessories like jewelry, matching t-shirt for underneath, if desired, and that sort of thing. There were no wrinkles and things were easy to find. I nested all the tiaras together to conserve space, and wrapped the magic wands together. We got great photos and the kids had a lot of fun being part of the dress up fun. Fortunately, the girls both got to meet their favorite princesses, and my son got to meet Elsa who is his favorite.

Definitely! We just got back and my daughter, almost 4 years old, wore a different princess every night and she LOVED it :)

Yes they do. Infact we didn't bring any of DD with us to save room in her luggage. She kept seeing girls in dresses ( ok mostly Elsa's everywhere) and when it came time for her to pick her 1 thing from the shops to remember her cruise. She chose a Rapunzel dress since we didn't bring any of her dresses with us. She wore it to our last nights dinner and loved the attention.

Our youngest was just shy of 6 when we went last summer. She pretty much lived in her princess costumes during the cruise. She loved changing out her dresses to match the princesses for the photo ops. There were many many kids dressed up all over the ship, even in the kids clubs.
