Hello! I am hoping to find my DD2 an Aurora dress for Halloween, but I really do not want one of the itchy ones from the Disney Store. I thought I had in my favorites a website suggested on here, but I cannot find it now. I have googled and searched ebay and etsy with no luck. I would like for it to closely resemble the real dress, but it seems many do not or they cost a fortune. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

If you have a Disney Store near you, I would go and take a look at the ones they just put out a week or so ago. We were in there yesterday and at least the Cinderella dress was much softer material than we have seen in the last year or two and lined much better. The CM told us that she thinks Disney did that on purpose as there had been a bunch of complaints about the material in the past couple of versions of the princess dresses. I don't know if the Aurora dress is just as good, but my 3 year old DD wanted the Cinderella dress to replace her "itchy" one and when we got it home, she put it on and said she liked it much better. Before someone says it, no she didn't just want a new dress. :) When she was 2 she had a Cinderella dress that she wore every day for almost 9 months until it was tattered and stained and ragged and she was outgrowing it. It was from the Disney Store and it was soft from the beginning. We bought the new style as a replacement before our December 2008 Disney trip when she was 2 yrs 10 months and she has never really liked it and has always complained that it wasn't soft. She tolerated it at WDW and actually insisted on wearing it every day while there, because we left the ragged one at home and she really wanted to wear a Cinderella dress every day. The minute we got home she refused to wear it again.

You might also try Target. I don't know what they might have now, but a friend gave her a Target Aurora dress last Christmas and it was soft and really cute. She wore it all the time for a while. Someone else got her one from the Disney Store and even though it is fancier, she won't wear it. It's from the same time period as the itchy Cinderella and it is just as itchy.

I dont know how much you want to spend but I know someone who makes them ... she doesnt charge too much and they are really nice...just PM me if you want the info..oh and they are not itchy at all!

Walmart usually has a nice selection of Disney licensed costumes and you can accessorize with Princess jewelry items from DollarTree:thumbsup2

The best ones are on Etsy and Ebay. There is a seller named boutiqueolliegirl who makes them out of cottons. We have several. Here is picture of my daughter who was Belle for Halloween last year.

OMG those pics are adorable!

I'm thinking about doing this http://www.disneystore.com/sleepwear-shimmering-sleeping-beauty-nightgown-for-girls/p/1249231/14399/ instead of costume.

It comes in Aurora, Ariel, and Cinderella. A friend took her DDs to a princess meal wearing them and the girls felt like they were in ball gowns. Then she used them for nightgowns when they got home. A number of moms at the meal commented on how great they looked and wished they had thought to do the same. Her girls were 7 at the time. Mine just turned 7 and all our dress up stuff is frayed and falling apart. They still like to play dress up and are quite creative and comical, but I have a hard time shelling out the money for 7 year olds who (I think) may outgrow "dress up" before I feel we get value out of a $40 costume.

They have the gowns in the Disney Store to see IRL.

Plan B more me is to hit clearance after Halloween. We go in December so I may get lucky. We do have one Ariel mermaid costume that would work but it's "under the sea" Ariel (as my DD says) not "land" Ariel. There is NO way I'm going to walk to a meal with one DD taking tiny little steps because of her mermaid gown.
