I have a 6 Disney dresses/outfits to sell at our garage sale tomorrow.
Having trouble deciding on a price for them. How much would you pay?

They are in fairly good, used condition. princess:

Cinderella w/ headband and jelly shoes
Belle w/ jelly shoes
Jasmine w/ headband
Snow White w/ jelly shoes and cape
Jasmine w/ headband
Sleeping Beauty
Pocohontas w/ headband, necklas, belt and boots
Jessie from Toy Story w/ hat
Little Bo Peep w/ pantaloons, bonnet and lamb bag

Before I answer this question, where are they from?? I mean disney store or walmart, etc...??? Are their any holes or can you just tell some little girl had fun in them?? Wish you lived closer, I would snatch some up in a hurry. If they are in good condition and name brand I would pay $15 at a rummage sale for one especially if it comes with the accessories.

They are all from Disney store.

By "good used condition" I mean that they have been played with and repaired, when needed. For example, seams have popped and been repaired. The shoes are jelly but still scuffed. Sleeping Beauty's zipper broke, so I took it out and added velcro closures. Pocahontas boots have big scuff mark on heels. Stuff like that. I think the netting on Snow White's dress has a rip. I was thinking about removing the netting.

I was thinking $10 with the little extra stuff that goes with them but worried that is too much? Too little?

I honestly think for $10 you are way overpriced! Unfortunately people are looking for really good deals on things and they wouldn't think $10 is ok for an item that has obviously been used quite a bit considering they have had to be repaired.

I had a garage sale last year and had several brand new with tags outfits (we are talking Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger) and I think I had like $3 on them and people were trying to talk me down in price.

With the economy like it is, more people are having sales to try to get some money, but the people that are coming to them, now more than ever are looking for a REALLY good deal.

You could put $10 on them, with hopes that someone will try to talk you down and not just look at the price and walk away.

Just my opinion.

The fact they are used AND repaired. $5 per dress including everything. You can be firm on the price if you want. Some people don't like to haggle.

I'd put the accessories together in clear gallon baggies and hang it with the dress.

Hang them.

I agree here. If they are from the Disney Store that's a good price..if they are WalMart I'd go lower. Since they have been damaged and repaired, I wouldn't pay more than that for them. If they were Disney Store and were in super shape, I'd sell them on Ebay.

$5 per dress. $7 with accessories.

Be willing to take $5 for dress and accessories.

Ok, I'm going to take a chance on the $10 price and go down to $5.

I listed the sale in our paper, online and on craigslist. People from craigslist are emailing left and right. Most just want info but I've got 3 grandmothers telling me they will be sitting outside my house, waiting for me to open. I'm not sure what to expect!

I paid $1 for a Disney Store Cinderella dress in almost new condition at a garage sale. My DD still wears it.

My experience at a yard sale, selling a bunch of dress-ups from WDW, in like new condition, with all the accessories, was that people wanted to pay $1. I had them marked $10.

Garage Sale prices are not $10 or even $5 in most cases. People are looking for cheap! Around here if you wanted that much, the best thing to do would be to list in the "freebies" section of our classifieds - the ads are free for any item under $100. Craigslist would also be the place for these if you want that much. But a garage sale, they will only want to pay a couple of bucks. Clothes that I did not want to just "giveaway" for garage sale prices I take to the consignment store. I may not make much more on the sell but I can't see just giving away namebrand clothing for 50 cents or $1!

Yesterday's sale was crazy. It started at 9am but those women were there at 8:15. Every princess dress sold for $10 each (accessories included). They didn't even ask to go down in price, they just inspected the dresses and paid. The first grandmother bought all of them. The next 2 women bought all of the other dress up outfits! (non-Disney things were $5).

People asked about the princess dresses for the next 2 hrs. It was unreal.
ALL Disney items went quickly!!

Glad it worked for you. For future refernece, I heard on a show once that items at a garage sale should be marked for 10% of what you paid. I try and go a little higher on name brands or with clothes that is in really good condition. Alot of times, people what something really nice for a $1. Like my daughter's UGG boots, I was asking $5 and people kept haggling for $1. I just kept them and gave them to my neighbor. :goodvibes At least I know her daughter will use them!:thumbsup2
