Princess Brookelynn's 1st trip to DISNEY!!!

Yes DH has some major things to do to catch up. If I wasn't afraid to hurt his mom's feelings (she is sensitive) I would call and ask her what kind of mother she was.

I do believe I am addicted to gifs now.

I waited till this evening to post because I thought was going to have to pick up oldest DD from work around midnight. I was super excited when she called me at 6:30pm and said she was done.

I HATE staying up late. I like getting up early and going to bed early.

I know I mentioned about losing my sister in Dec and using the Dis to help distract me but this has still been a hard week. This week doesn't hold any special dates so I am not sure why it has been a little harder. She passed the day after her birthday so I still have a few months before we have to face that.

Enough of that.
An update on Princess Brookelynn.

She has started rolling over and sat up by herself for couple minutes on Monday. Happy that she is getting bigger but sad because I know that will lead her to the teenage years.

Okay on to my Disney Trip thoughts.

I saw on a thread that they are trying something new with Fantasmic so I think I am going to switch my Hollywood and Vine from lunch to breakfast. We really want Brookelynn to see the characters and I am starting to get worried about 2 things a)will Brookelynn get scared at Fantasmic and b) will I get freaked trying to leave the park with all those people. I don't like crowded spaces. (Yes I am aware that Disney is crowded) I usually skip the fireworks and the parades. I try to leave before the end of the day when the cattle herding takes place. I am going to try rope drop but not park closing.

I had more thoughts but don't remember what I was going to say.

BIG UPDATE!!!!
MY SISTER JUST BOOKED A TRIP TO DISNEY FOR 6 OF THE NIGHTS THAT WE ARE GOING TO BE THERE!!

So it will be her, her husband, her daughter who will be 19, her son who will be 15, and her daughter who will be 2!!!!

I sent her a ton of info (probably way more than she needed)


I don't know how many days we will be in the same parks yet but hopefully we will hit a couple together. She might go to parks with the EMH and I am avoiding most of those days. Her kids will probably stay out later and not want to do RD and I am going to be pushing people out the door in my room.
She is going to stay in one of the Fort Wilderness cabins. I thought about changing but the set up doesn't work for us. It works great for her. the older 2 kids can stay in the living room and the 2 year old can sleep in the bottom bunk in her bedroom. I know that we are not suppose to swim at any other resorts but I am hoping that we can get permission to swim at each others resort. I am only staying at a value resort so it is not like the pool is amazing so maybe it won't be as big a deal. It's not like one of us will be at the Beach club.

We don't want to try and do the Hoop Dee Doo together which means I am going to have to change my plans around because I was planning on doing that the first night and she won't get there until 2 days after me. So now I have to decide where we want to eat that 1st night and what our plans are going to be. I am thinking we might head to DTD because I keep reading about those darn Earl of Sandwiches and now I feel like I must get one to try. It will definitely be a quick service though because I am still using all my table services. I think the only days available for the hoop dee doo now will be on one of my Magic Kingdom days or the Animal Kingdom day. Maybe we can do the Ohana breakfast before the magic Kingdom and then the 6:15 pm at the hoop dee doo.

Okay I also read on a TR about the Shopkick app where I can do something in a store (gotta read all about it later) to earn points. trade those points in for Target gift cards then use the Target gift cards to but Disney gift cards. It's like free money.

I added the app but haven't gone anywhere yet to try it all.

I don't think I have mentioned this before but I am minutes from a Sam's Warehouse so I have a membership/. Well you can get $150.00 for 142.00 (and some change) so that will save me close to $8.00. I plan to do that to pay off my package and then I will have saved at least $400 which will be like having free tips at my sit down meal. I am going to save every little bit I can.

So I have thought of another way to get "free money" I pay some of my bills online and decided to use my cash back cc to pay them and then just pay it off each month. Between now and they trip I should have enough to cover all the gas for the trip.Between that and the Sam's gift cards I am saving over $600!! Now I am constantly thinking of other ways to get free money.

Random thoughts

I saw that Garden Grill is now going to offer lunch and breakfast so I am thinking we might do it earlier than I planned but that leaves me with deciding if we still want to do Coral Reef.???? At least I still have time to decide.

I have talked to DH and we might add an 8th day onto our tickets. It is cheaper per person but still around $60 since we are a bigger family. When we get to Florida we will just go to the Magic Kingdom and do FP+ for characters so that we don't have to do that on other days. I am really hoping Princess Brookelynn likes them. I still want to get back to the room early for a good nights sleep.

I have a question for anyone who happens to be seeing this. My sister was a huge Mickey fan. She had tons of them all over her house. I am thinking about framing a picture of her (hopefully one from Disney) and having it with me when we meet Mickey Mouse. I am the sentimental type and just thought it would be a way to have her with me. Do you think this is strange or a nice touch?

Speaking of being sentimental I can't wait to share Brookelynn's 4 month pictures with you later today. I have been deciding on a theme each month and this one is going to have tons of little touches from those looking over us up above.

I don't think it would be weird to have Mickey sign a photo if it was of Mickey and your sister, as a little nod in remembrance of your sister, if it would mean something to you. I'm not sure I would share why I was wanting it signed by the character, I would just keep it private and in my heart, to keep it light and celebratory.

I had a brother who passed away, he was just shy of his 21st birthday. The first time I went to WDW he was with us, I was like 8 and he was about 3. There are quite a few moments every trip that I think of him. Wish I could have him there with me, and that we could have gone as adults.

So if you added the tickets you would go on your arrival day to see characters? Would that be too much for the little one? I don't have kids, so I don't know this stuff. Lol. I know doing anything on arrival day is too much for me! I'm always exhausted.

We would only go see the characters that we have a FP+ for so just 3 lines. I doubt we will be there for more than a few hours. We might take a ride on the Monorail to look at the resorts. I am guessing that all the kids will sleep the majority of the way and will need to run a little energy off before we try to go to bed early. I will probably be exhausted because I am the packer, loader, and first one up when we go on trips. but I am use to that. DH is going to do the driving so he might decide that he wants to stay in the room if it is ready when we get there.

Princess Brookelynn's 4 month photo. All the bears in this picture have a special meaning. The rocking chair was given to me when I was pregnant with my 15 year old. We take Brookelynn's picture in it every month.

My Granny bought this cradle for me when I was 4 or 5 to put our babydolls in. My dad put a better bottom in it when I was pregnant with Brookelynn's Mom and all my kids have slept in it as babies. Now Princess Brookelynn does.

Proof that she does smile.

As far as pool hopping goes you would need to ask the lifeguard on duty at the time as they are the only one who can decide if you can swim. At least that's what the pool hopping thread says! I haven't ever done it myself (mostly cause we never seem to swim at our own resort let alone anywhere else!)

I think your Mickey idea is great and not weird at all!

a minnie shirt for Natalie for Animal Kingdom found at Goodwill for $2.75. The princess shirt is for Ellen because they are wearing glasses that look just like hers. Found at walmart for $5.00

Got the matching outfits for $5 each forBrookelynn and my niece Cami. Got the gown for Cami on sale from the disney store for half off. Got Brookelynn one too but the smallest size they had was a 4.

Local wal-mart has a ton of infant clothes on clearance. I could get all of the clothes Brookelynnneeds for the entire trip. Just not sure if I should get 12 or 18 months. She was almost 9lbs at birth but is now on the small size at 12lbs at 4 months. Wish I had a looking glass to next June. If I decide to grab some I think I will do 18 months of the summer dresses and pjs but 12 months on the short sets.
