Princess Billie & Her Royal Court ~ A Feb 2017 PTR ~ Update 7/24: That's A Wrap... Finally!

19 days until WDW! :hyper:
****************************************************

Hey, ya'll! :grouphug:

Soooo thanks to everybody who is still here, haha. I know I've pulled a disappearing act over the last few months. I don't really have a good explanation. I'll ask you all for forgive my absence, and I'll even apologize with a photo of my adorable cat colony in a bedtime snuggle pile...

So about me disappearing: I think it all started when I lost my ability to DIS on the job. When I'm at home, I really just don't want to be on the computer that much, honestly. So I think I started to feel like keeping up with my threads and others here on the DIS was more a chore and an obligation, rather that something enjoyable. I do love ya'll dearly and miss our laughs, though. I need to come up with some sort of compromise or strategy so that I can still get in my DIS time and enjoy it again!

But here I am, with somewhat of a quickie update on this trip, which is now only 19 days away! To be honest, it's not just the DISboards I've lost my passion for, I think it's Disney/Planning in general. Shocking, right? Do you know I got my AP on my last trip back in October, and only just tonight ordered my MagicBand to go with it? Ya'll all know that I normally would have done started packing by now, but I haven't even thought about it. Haven't even started my list. Yesterday I forced myself to go on Amazon and order the outfit for the 5K that I've have on my wishlist for over a year... I should have done that months ago. (The 5K that I haven't trained for in 6 months, and am likely going to get swept during anyhow.) Normally I transfer my spending money out of my DVA into my bank account around 30 days before the trip... Haven't done that yet, either.

I did do our FastPasses and touring plan on our 60 day marks, so I'm not completely useless! But I haven't even thought about them since. Tomorrow morning at work I plan on reviewing them and doing any tweaking that needs to be done, as well as gettin' crackin' on all the stuff above that I mentioned.

So why am I slacking so much on my Disney planning? I'm not in a funk, per say. I still LOVE Disney and am very much looking forward to my upcoming trips. I'm just not feeling the all-consuming fire for it all that I used to. I don't know if I got it all out of my system during my big trip back in October or what. It's just not my cerebral cortex's main priority these days. I'm sorry!

More recently, I know I'm distracted by Real Life. Specifically, a few weeks ago, I interviewed for a pretty big promotion in a different (not travel-related) division in my company. I was selected for it on January 19th and offered the position, and start at my new office on this coming Monday morning. It's a complete role change, as I'll be an Administrative Specialist for one of our behavioral health offices. I will miss the travel industry, as it's been my career for the last 15 years. But to be honest, I'm pretty burnt out on customer service. This new position also comes with a 45% pay raise, which will make a huge difference in my life. So it really is a fantastic opportunity that I absolutely couldn't turn down. I'm excited about this big change, but also super nervous. I'm starting a completely new chapter in my life.

Oh, and our MagicBands for our resort stay arrived today! I only took a photo of Mark & Debby's, since I have an orange one just like hers. But they're they new-style ones, which are honestly kinda funny looking!

Weird, right?!

Also... @chunkymonkey , @LindseyJo22 , and @cinderkelly ... Are we still on for the DisMeets we discussed a million years ago?

Okay, I thank that's all I have for right now. Plus the Dis is gonna go down for it's nightly maintenance in a few, so I should wrap this up. I'll do my best to come back in the next few weeks and do more updates, but no promises! I'll try to get back to work on that TR and DR, too. Not to mention catching up on all of YOUR threads. (I'm overwhelmed just thinking about it!)

Thanks for coming back and updating us.

Congratulations on your new job! I'm sure the transition will be stressful but it sounds like it will be SO worth it for the money alone!

Congrats on the promotion!!

I totally get trip planning burnout. I still love going but planning has come to feel more like a chore than it did anytime prior.

I know your trip will. be amazing!

I love it! Do I still get it when I get swept because I haven't gone for a walk much less trained in months?

Yep. (It's actually a huge controversy in the runDisney fanatic world, and some people think it's a terrible idea to give medals to people who get swept, but the way I see it ... if you show up and try, you deserve a medal)
They don't really sweep the 5K (well, usually), but if you feel like you can't walk anymore, find a CM and/or the medical tent and they'll help you out.
Also ... go get your butt on the treadmill.

Congrats on the new job! It'll probably be a bit of an adjustment, but I'm sure that once you settle in, you'll do great!

Thanks for coming back to us!!!!! :) We missed you!!!!

CONGRATULATIONS on the promotion and THE RAISE!! Extra moolah is always dance-worthy!! :dancer:

I hope you'll pop in again before your trip, but if not, can't wait to hear how it all goes down!! Have a magical time if we don't see you before then! party:

Definitely - my Dis enthusiasm in general goes in spurts. Sometimes I'm super into it, and on the boards all the time and watching Youtube vlogs and everything, and sometimes other things get my attention. That's totally fine :)

So it really is a fantastic opportunity that I absolutely couldn't turn down. I'm excited about this big change, but also super nervous. I'm starting a completely new chapter in my life.

So excited! It's scary starting something new - but I hope this will be a great opportunity :) Plus, 45% raise is nothing to sneeze at - that should help on the Real Life end, and maybe fund some more Disney or traveling fun in the future :D

Also... @chunkymonkey , @LindseyJo22 , and @cinderkelly ... Are we still on for the DisMeets we discussed a million years ago?

Totally! We have 1900 Park Fare reservations at 7:30 that Friday night, and then are going to try to head to MK for a DVC event happening from 10-1am. So I'd want to meet close to MK if at all possible, but am up for whatever :D Mostly I want to meet some people in real life (even though I'll probably be super awkward about it).

:yay::yay: Congratulations on the new job! :cool1::cool1:

I'm spending more time on the Dis because FB is just annoying with all the political commentary (on both sides). I'm tired of the bickering, so I come to the Dis to escape!

Looking forward to hearing about your 5K!

The new job is awesome news and should help you to get your new car even sooner than planned! Plus more Disney trips of course! I would be nervous too, but that's totally normal and it will be worth it!

So cute to see the three kitties cuddled up together. :)

Enjoy your trip! Ours is coming up in 24 days - we'll just miss you guys. I can't wait - I am over winter and looking forward to seeing Epcot all decked out for the Flower and Garden Festival!

@LindseyJo22 @Elevationist @cinderkelly - I'm totally excited about our Dismeet!! I'm going to PM you guys separately with my phone and email/contact info etc.
I'm totally cool with meeting near MK. We're at the Contemporary anyways - so Trader Sams is an option...or cinderkelly brought up the idea of having one of these at the Contemporary:

24oz Seven Seas Lagoon

Bwahahaha!

I'm totally excited about our Dismeet!

Me too!! :goodvibes

or cinderkelly brought up the idea of having one of these at the Contemporary:

Yes!!! :drinking1I read The description of this beauty on the Disney Food Blog, sounds delicious!

"Still, if you’re looking to invest the $22.00 (not bad, for a shareable beverage), you’ll want to know how the thing tastes. Ingredients include Skyy Vodka, Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, lime and pineapple juices, soda water, and agave."

Awesome news on the job front!!! Huge congrats!

Missed you, but understand when we have a DISlump.

Well this is really exciting! Congratulations on the new job. Enjoy your trip and the 5K.

If it makes you feel better, they don't sweep during the 5k! Tons of walkers/runners of all types. Get a few workouts in during the next few days, make sure you have good exercise shoes that you've used before, and be prepared to have a great time. There's nothing like the early mornings of Run Disney events!

Congratulations on the Promotion/new job! (and the raise is a nice bonus too, I bet!)

Coming out of lurkdom to say...

- I don't really know you but I am confident that you won't get swept at the 5K and that you will have a blast! That probably doesn't mean much coming from some rando on the internet, but there it is. :)
- I totally get not being consumed by the Disney planning anymore...I think it happens to those of us who are lucky enough to go on multiple trips!
- Congrats on the promotion!! :yay:
- I love the "cat colony" picture and am a little jealous that you have a "cat colony." I just love cats.

Congrats on the job.. and your lucky we are facebook friends or i would have sent out the troops..

Looking forward to hearing more plans..
And well.. I understand since i also moved in the job land.

Awesome news about the promotion- congratulations!!!

Sometimes I get in a funk too where I don't feel like planning or keeping up with stuff, so no biggie. Just do a trip update when you feel like it. Your public will be eagerly awaiting still!

Have fun at the 5k and on the rest of the trip!

. I'll ask you all for forgive my absence, and I'll even apologize with a photo of my adorable cat colony in a bedtime snuggle pile...

Love it! One of my cats liked to lay against my back. His warmth and purring pulled the stress right out.

Hope the new job is going well. Fantastic salary increase! Maybe you can get a car sooner. Sounds like you were ready for a change too.

I get DIS burnout too. No particular reason that I know of usually. Sometimes I just get worn out from it all and need a break from the trip planning, DISing, etc.

Hey lady!

I've been pretty mia around here too... no trips to plan so I just haven't been into it. Life consumes you sometimes. I am sure you will have a fabulous trip!

Congrats on your promotion I know you will rock your new job!

Xoxo!
