Well Disney's return to classic animation may not be the most original film in the world but boy does it look gorgeous!

New Orleans and the Bayou look incredible thanks to the amazing animation, and Dr Facillier is one hell of a good villain, almost Jafar like!

A great way (along with the bar of Ghiradelli I ate) to beat the Sunday evening blues!!

:goodvibes

Can't wait to see it Luke :thumbsup2 It's like a return to the Disney movies I grew up with - Little Mermaid, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast etc.
I've had my eye on this but it always seems to say it's unavailable, I'm hoping it's not been released yet.

Sounds fabulous! :goodvibes :thumbsup2

Oh that doll is beautiful. I might try and get it for my DD. She is a huge fan of the Princess and the Frog story...I've just ordered her this beautiful print for her room too :)

Some of us on the board went to various cinemas to see the Princess and the Frog at the beginning of the month on the free screening offer.

There is a thread where some of us gave our opinions of the film.
My family loved it!

It's a brilliant film. :) I am seeing it again at the weekend in London, and there is a Q&A session with the directors and an animator after - I can't wait! :)

Looking forward to seeing this film also, roll on February 5th! :goodvibes

I was going to take DD to see it at DTD however she wants to see it at home. We met the princess and prince yesterday at MK so she is really excited to see it now.

Me too! When we were out in WDW we saw the trailers wtc - I wish they would have brought it out at Christmas time over here though, to me it would seem like a better time of year?

Watched it again while doing a bit of work when I got home from school and it holds up well to repeated viewings too!!

Really do love Dr Facillier, he's just so cool!!

:goodvibes

We hope to see it some time in the next month up here, it's a matter of finding the time to get to a cinema so we'll probably wait until half term since we are both off work that week and Ethan can spend some time with us too.
The whole film is a great example of hand drawn animation (let's face it if they don't keep making them this way it will die out as an art form) and I love that it's not full of computer generated special effects and with big budget, it harks back to earlier Disney films. Even better it actually tells the story and sticks to it.
We loved the animation tour info during last summer's holiday there in WDW and it is a work of total dedication and perseverance, to get this made and still get so many people interested should encourage Disney to keep going with projects like this.
Yes okay it's not going to make the same in ticket sales because kids and teens expect in these modern times to have the big budget electronic and computer generated wow factor (goodness forbid they learn to imagine something;)) but Disney and other film producers shouldn't dismiss this as an art form and a beautiful way to tell a story. Don't get me wrong we loved Wall-E but it's not always the way to go it suited that film but it would have ruined this one.

We saw it on New Years Day in Orlando. It really is amazing, a return to the animated classics, I loved it.
