Primeval Whirl! I don't think I knew about it!

The good news is if you miss the ride at Animal Kingdom, you can ride the same Reverchon Crazy Mouse at neighborhood amusement parks, county fairs, and carnivals around the world.

Yep. This is what I don't like about Dinoland: It's an expensive, high quality amusement park's imitation of a cheap, low quality amusement park. I think they hit the mark perfectly, and I don't know if I should be impressed by that or not. :confused3

I had the same feeling when I was in Storybook Circus in new Fantasyland.

Hey man, don't rain on my Primeval Whirl parade! In my head it's now become the greatest ride I have never ridden. :rotfl:

It's not terribly more jerky than most rollercoasters, but the round shape of the car is hard on me. I'm 6ft2 and "more legs than torso" so my knees kept hitting the inside wall of the car - not pleasant. A friend I rode with who was 6ft8 had knee pain the rest of the day. But for normal-sized people and kids I'd imagine this isn't an issue!

BTW I had the same issue with mullholland madness at DCA - I think they may in fact be the same ride with different theming

My sister and I rode it in the rain in 2011. Holy crap! We were hanging on for dear life as we spun like tops and went down hills backwards at mach 1. I still can't decide if we were having fun or not.

I will admit, I didn't know about Dinosaur until my recent solo trip. We usually don't visit DinoLand, and in my research for things I've never done before I found Dinosaur. I looked up a video on YouTube and thought I'd try it out. Never again! And I'm glad my daughter wasn't with me with I rode it, she would've been sick the rest of the day!

Oops, sorry, didn't mean to do that. I meant to try it myself our last trip in October since my daughter was tall enough by then, but we never made it into that section of AK that day. But I'd still like to give it a try despite the fact that I'd have to go through Dinoland to get to it. :smokin:

I love the ride. I plant my feet and try to relax the rest of me. Not so I'm floppy but so I can go with it. I think that's why it doesn't hurt me. Same with Indy at Disneyland. (Have only ridden dinosaur once so can't remember I I hurt after that)

Helpful hint: if there's a very big difference in sizes between two in your party, don't have them share the restraint bar. So my DH, a big guy, has his restraint bar, and I share with our son.

Make sure you don't have any neck or back problems, lol! ;) - the first time I rode it, I got hurt. Ended up in pain until the next day. I think it's because they stuffed the ride vehicle.... still traumatized though

How many people were in your ride vehicle?

MM, or goofy's sky school now, is the same basic thing but way tinier and way jerkier. Horrid ride. Won't do it anymore. But I love PW.

I liked it better when it used to spin more, but I'm not prone to motion sickness. It's a fun little coaster but it is somewhat jerky.

On our first ever trip to Ak i didn't even know Dino Land was there ! I found the DIS after we got back from our trip and soon realized what we had missed. We still make fun of ourselves every time we go back to the world.

THIS. PW is the jerkiest and more jarring ride in WDW. I won't ride it again. My neck hurts thinking about that ride.

Thanks for all the reviews everyone!

I am prepared to like it ....or not! :rotfl:

Seriously, come on October!! :)

On our first trip in 2012, DH and I didn't even go to Animal Kingdom because I read so many posts about AK being not worth going to. Last year we went to AK and we absolutely loved it! We both loved PW and laughed our butts off on that ride. I can't wait to go back and ride it again. One of those rides that is just pure joy.

Packed cars must = better experience. This is the only ride I have ever actually gotten hurt riding on.

Actually, Goofy's Sky School is quite a bit taller than Primeval Whirl (55 feet vs. 42 feet) and the tracks are similar in length.

I guess it's all just a matter of perception - I love Goofy's Sky School and don't find it too jerky at all, but I detest Primeval Whirl and feel ill every time I ride it (which I do just to spend time with my boys).

Talking cars, not the ride itself. It being taller makes sense because of how much I feel that we'll be falling to our deaths on it. The tininess of of the cars does not help with this feeling.

It is VERY rough. If you have any sort of aches or pains they will be aggravated by this ride. It felt like a car accident.

Went on it last week. I HATED it. Now I love roller casters and thrill rides but I found primeval whirl to be to jerky. I did not like it. I didn't mind the spinning but the way it jerked me around hurt me.

ALL OF THE ABOVE. It's a "Mouse Coaster" so you can google and get description. I LOVE coasters, there isn't one I've seen I haven't been on. You could leave me on RnR or EE for hours and I'd be happy. This one is awful. It's very jerky, throws you all over the car, beats you up and I wouldn't wait a minute to ride it again. I can't think of anything at WDW that tossed me around like this ride. I like crazy rides but this one wasn't worth the after affects, bruises or pain.

We are taking our granddaughter for her first visit next month. I was so disappointed to see that she is not tall enough. She is 44" She can ride Splash Mt. but not this. I think she would have really liked it.

"Hurl and Twirl"
That was the nickname the kids gave it when they were little. It does not seem to spin as much as I remember from years ago. It is a must do for my DD 14 for every trip. This side of the park does not seem to attract as many people.
