I believe OP is referring to Disney resorts. There was a deal struck between Disney and Priceline a week or so ago. It has been reported by several sources such as the Orlando Sentinel and there have been a few posts on the DIS about it, I'm just to lazy to search for them now.

OP, the article I read indicated that they would begin to appear by mid November.

From what I heard and read, this will be set up the same way as booking Disney resort rooms on sites like Expedia where the price is set but might possibly be a little lower than rack rate. It didn't sound like they would be open for bidding. Has anyone else heard anything about that?

Okay news of this hasn't made it here yet, apparently. None of my RSS feeds caught it. Anyway, it was reported in the Orlando Sentinel's "The Daily Disney" column:

This line confirms what crusoe said:

Disney hotel rooms will become a part of Priceline's inventory in mid-November, though the rooms will be available only through the site's conventional booking engine — not its "Name Your Own Price" service.

I am sort of confused because the article I read on Frommer sounded like they will be at a discounted rate

Frommer is just quoting the Daily Disney column, so expect that everything that they say that goes beyond what the Daily Disney column said is their own wishful thinking.

Regardless, what they offer on Priceline will almost surely be discounted, but only a small amount as compared to what most folks think of first when they think, specifically, about "Priceline" (because most folks think about the "name your own price" service, first, when they think of Priceline). And the discounts found there may even be found elsewhere as well, such as Disney's own website. There isn't any indication yet of exclusivity of the discounts.

It is supposed to only be the value hotels. They will probalby be at a small disocunt, which would be good if you can't get any other kind of discount at the time (AP, room only, etc). I say that because the other hotels they offer in that section of their website, their prices aren't much less than you can find anywhere else in my experience.
