SUCESS!!!

I got Wyndham Orlando I-Drive for $20 a night plus AMEX bonus for five nights in March!!! :P

Thanks for all the info that this board has given me!!! =)

Has anyone stayed in this hotel before?? I've read a lot of good reviews on this site! I'm so excited!!!

However, we are going w/o a car, so is this resort convenient to places?? Easy to get around?? We plan to spend 2 days at Universal Studios, 1 at Disney, and 1 at Belz? Are there any restaurants within walking distance???

Also, does anyone know about the resort charges?? I read that it is $4.44 per night? This is current, or has it gone up even more!!!

Thanks so much!!!
:D :D :D :D

Wow! Congrats! I could not get any of those with my bids up to $50 when I did Priceline a few months ago for June! Have fun! :D :D :D

Congratulations on your winning bid!! We stayed at the Wyndham on I-Drive this past December and thought it was wonderful. It is within walking distance of many restaraunts, and shops, and things like Ripley's believe it or not and (I think its WonderWorks??) that upside down science building place is close.
We stayed there for the weekend before going onsite to Disney, so we could do SeaWorld and Universal. Both of them are only minutes away..as a matter of fact I think you just make a left as soon as you get out onto I-Drive, then just follow the signs. Its very close.
They also have a very nice pool and hot-tub, and a game room. They have an ice-cream shop right by hte pool and a bar and all that stuff. Your going to be really happy! And even happier because of the good price you got!!

Have Fun!!

We enjoyed our stay at Wyndam! The room was great. The grounds were beautiful. The bar at the pool serves the BEST strawberry daquiries (sp?) or perhaps it was just the atmosphere that made them sooooo goooood..... sunset, palm trees...

The Wyndham on I-Drive is wonderful. Great pools and great atmosphere! Try registering for the Wyndham by Request program through www.wyndham.com and show your membership card when registering. We had a basket of fruit, cheese, beer, soft drinks, etc. delivered to our room after check-in. I've even heard of some people getting a room upgrade with the card.

Thanks everyone for all your info!! I'm not as worried about the no car part now! I also just joined their By Request program, and am looking forward to their strawberry daquiries!!!!! =P

For those of you who just recently stayed there, what was the resort fee?

I also read from the pricelinebidding board that people are getting this hotel for $15 + Bonus! So give it a try for 15 and get a better deal than i did! :D

You can check out the I-Ride Trolley at www.iridetrolley.com for info on their stops (they go up and down International Drive). I think you can buy a ticket good for a week for either $5 or $7.

Since you won't have a car you will want to request a room near the front desk. The resort is pretty big and it's a long walk to the units in back.

We are due to stay at Days Suites on Irlo Bronson Memorial something or other.

I visited Priceline and got nervous when it showed me the catchment areas that they would try to get a hotel at for you.

The original poster sounds like she got a real steal....

What are the chances of us getting a WAY BETTER PLACE that the Days Suites on a 7 day notice?

*Okay, so we stay off-site....float me some cash and we'll stay at the resort with YOU! HA! :)

Thanks everyone for your replies!

Ruby - my travel dates are also one week from now, so I say you have quite a lot of chances.
The catch to priceline is that you won't know which hotel they'll give you. YOu can only choose the * and the area.

Unless you want a specific hotel, why not give it a try? Take advantage of the AMEX bonus money before it expires this month! But you have to the special link.

Good luck! :D

Your chances are probably pretty good in the Universal/Seaworld zone (where the Wyndham Orlando is located). Because of your travel dates and the very high occupancy (lots of sold out hotels) in the Disney Vicinity zone, you may not be successful for a 3* or 4* hotel.

Ruby,

I would say that your chances are pretty good. Then again, I wouldn't stay at a Days Inn in Orlando if they paid me. BTDT, never again :(.

Check out TravelSheryl's board for more info on bidding on Priceline: Priceline Bidding Board

I was also successful with the Wyndham about 3 weeks ago, $52 no bonus money for 6 nights. We decided to up everything one day so I was stuck with no hotel room for the first night. Went thru the Bonus link and got the Wyndham PALACE for $50 on Monday! I am really regretting not waiting but on the other hand I am obsessive about having somewhere to put my little head down WAY in advance. Congrats to you!! :D
