Priceline or Carousel?

I'm only spending one night with the kids. I have a reservation at Carousel Inn and suites. We've stayed there before and it's fine for us. We like being able to walk. I got the room for $99 plus tax. My sister is going at another time and got a room on priceline at the Crowne Plaza for $40.

My question is this: Is it worth it to try and get a priceline room? Once you add in the taxes/fees, potential parking fees, plus either parking at Mickey and Friends, or the inconvenience of using the shuttle, I wonder if the extra $30 - $40 I'd be spending is worth it. Of course, the rooms at the priceline hotels are much nicer and since I'm going on a weeknight, the parks close earlier, so Hmmm.

I keep going back and forth. I could use some new opinions, esp. from seasoned Disney travelers.

The proximity of the Carousel to the parks would win out for me. I hate dealing with shuttles/parking. It's a big time waster when you could be getting into the park earlier in the mornings by just walking across the street.

I booked through priceline and got the fullerton crownplaza 75 a night it was nice but I hated paying for parking.

So in dec I have booked the del sol inn for 75 a night through getaway today.

No parking fee and right across the street wins for me now.
I still booked a rental car through priceline

If you have the Entertainment card, you may be able to save even more on your Carousel stay. We booked our 2-Queens November room for $85/nt at the Carousel with the Entertainment Card. It doesn't matter what location your Ent. book is for...any card will work for the hotel discounts.

Last time we went the Priceline route to save a little extra, but we really missed the convenience of the hotel right across the street, especially since our kids are so young. The walk to/from the parking garage was a bit of a hassle in comparison, especially if you have a larger stroller and have to wait for the right spot on the parking shuttle on a busy day.

If you have the Entertainment card, you may be able to save even more on your Carousel stay.

THanks for the tip. And thanks to those who replied and re-enforced what I'd been thinking: At the end of the day, when those little ones are tired, it's SO worth it to be able to walk across the street and flop into bed.
