We will be arriving in October (26th PM) for MNSSHP on the 27th and then boarding the Magic on the 29th. Has anyone had any luck in priceline(ing) for a 2 1/2 or 3 star hotel in the general Orlando area?
As noted, betterbidding is a great source of info on the hotels for all areas. We use Priceline a ton and have never been disappointed. The key is research and more research.
We're arriving on Saturday and staying at the Galord Palms for the third time using a Priceline bid. Got it for $105 (it's a resort), but rack rate is $199-$269 and this place is GORGEOUS. I'm talking indoor themed areas (including a ship, a swamp and an alligator sanctuary all under glass so there's plenty to do even in the rain), marble walk-in showers, robes, refrigerators and balconies... heaven! We've gotten it as low as $83 before, but it's high season right now...
We got the Marriott close to the airport last December for $40. I believe it's a 3 star. It was nice. It's more business travel than Disney. The rooms are large and it has a really nice indoor/outdoor pool. I can't remember but I think the website that I looked at was bidfortravel. It gives a list of the price people have gotten for hotels in Orlando using priceline.
