And, what's done is done, but I am pretty happy.

We arrive at MCO at 11:15 pm on a Saturday night. So, I decided to Priceline our first night's hotel. I was crossing my fingers, and hoping for the MCO Hyatt, but alas, it was not to be.

I got the Renaissance Orlando Hotel Airport for $35 ($45.40 after all taxes).

I am pretty happy with it, and think I did ok for my very first Priceline bid.

I think you did fine too. I have a priceline stay there for a late night arrival as well.....$38.

We stayed there the night after our Halloween cruise, thru priceline :p You done good kid. Very decent hotel and free shuttle to the airport. My parents used it very early in the morning and were quite happy with it.

Thanks everyone!

I called the Renaissance today to find out exactly what I have to do to get the shuttle. I spoke to an utterly delightful rep, who noted on our reservation that we would be arriving late, and that we would need 2 beds, as it is DH, DS and myself. DS is only 6 so I figured if we had to, we could all cram into a King for one night (approx 6 hours). She was adamant:

"NO, your baby is going to be plumb tuckered out, he needs a good night's sleep, I will make sure you get a double Queen Room"

I'm thinking I like this whole Priceline thing. ::yes:: ::yes::

You did well here. Priceline can work out when people know how to use it for their best benefit.

If you are planning on using priceline, than please chek the biddingfortravel.com website. You can check which hotels are coming up for the time you are going and at what rate. We also are arriving late and checked the site to see that the hyatt was taking bids at 38.00. This hotel is the one right in the airport and you dont have to worry aboout the shuttle. We have used priceline many times and have never had a problem. PLease all you priceline worriers check the site first and you wont be disappointed. BUT PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE NEVER GUARANTEED A SPECIFIC HOTEL BUT ARMED WITH KNOWLEDGE YOU USUALLY CAN GET WHAT YOU WANT ON PRICELINE.

I stayed here on a Priceline bid in November, and I found the staff and accommodations to be wonderful!! I can't remember exactly what I paid, but I do remember thinking that I received a lot for the money. Enjoy!

I've used Priceline for 3 weekends trips and was really pleased. Except the last time it was a 4 star hotel and really nice but no indoor pool so DD was quite disappointed. I would not hesitate to use it for a first or last night stay at WDW.

Good job.

I think that is the way to go with a late arrival. Last January I bid Priceline for the first time and got the Marriott Airport. Our flight was delayed and we arrived at 1 a.m. from MN!

I am SO glad we had a close by airport hotel to drop dead in.

I think Robin RS has posted abou your hotel and if I remember correctly, she like it.

herc.

Found that site....
Find it to be a good resource to compare prior bids on Priceline.
HTH.

Wow, herc, you have some memory!

Yes, Deb I stayed at the Renaissance Orlando Airport Hotel, that's a mouthful, twice on bids from Priceline. One was about 3 years ago on a $25 bid and the last was 2 years ago on a $35 bid so, yes, you did great.

This is the CUTEST hotel. They have a great little restaurant downstairs that serves an awesome breakfast also.

I posted superlative reviews on this hotel twice but they were quite awhile ago. I'm sure the Renaissance continues to keep up the quality.

Have fun! :wave2:
