Priceline Disney Area In December???

We are planning a little get a way in Dec...We are wanting to stay 2 nights in Orlando on Dec 13 and then we are on a short 3 night cruise Friday. I thought about renting points again, but we won't arrive till late on the 13th an only plan to spend 2 nights and attend on of the Christmas parties at MK.

Should I just try to Price line something??? Last time I got the Radisson Worldgate for one night ($50) after our week at the BWV and it was very convenient...

Do you think I may have a good chance of getting the S/D at that time of year??? What star would I have too bid on???

I saw Disney was giving some good room rates again...Guess I could keep watching that too.

I just hate to pay $150 too stay at a moderate for just 2 nights this trip.

Oh, I'd love to hear the responses on this one. Maybe I could convince DH that we could to a short anni trip even if we already have a trip in Sept that's part of our "gift" to each other.

We don't need to be doing this....But I can not help it.. We want to get back to MK for the Christmas party so bad...I don't have to stay at Disney this time...I guess??? LOL

I have read that others had gotten the swan and Dolphin on priceline. That would be awesome!!!

We are booking at RCCL cruise and it is so cheap!! 3 nights on Sov of the seas and it is only costing us $700 for all 3 of us in an Ocean view room! Can not beat that. It will be a nice little get a way...I love Coco Cay! I am just excited to get to go back there.

Hopefully we will get some responses soon....

I have never been dissapointed with Price line in the past...I will wait till closer to do it though.

don't think anyone has gotten the dolphin or swan in quite a while.

last May and June - several of us were lucky enough to get disney's all stars sports....

that was for $36 with 2 1/2 stars on priceline....

but I have seem nothing lately.

I got Amerisuites for $35 a night. but for Dec you are bidding much too early....

go look at these websites and see if they can help you - but again you are much to early for Dec.

You can usually get a resort with PL for at or below the price of a moderate hotel BUT onsite gives you DME (free airport transfers) and gives you the option of purchasing MYW Dining. Offsite really requires a rental car.

I don't agree with the philosophy of using PL for one or two nights for a lower * property, maybe in the airport zone. Look for a good discount and you may get a free breakfast, use PL and you might have a small resort fee, no free breakfast and a PL that erodes most of your savings. If you don't want to drive to the parks you could book a DTD hotel, using available discounts.

Thanks, I only plan to try Price line if I find nothing else. So I would not bid until the first of December.

We will have a rental car since we have to drive to Port Canaveral on Friday morning. So I am not too worried about the transportation.

I am still throwing around the idea of renting points again. I could get a studio at Old Key West or Saratoga springs for $110 per night...No taxes or fees...So that is still a thought????

you should be able to get a studio at OKW for $80 to $110 - depending upon who you rent from.

the points needed for Dec 1- 18 (Sun - thurs) is 8 points for OKW.

but this is a very hard to get reservations.

Dec is very, very popular with DVC members.

The girl I rent points from checked a few weeks ago and I could still get studio at OKW...Maybe I will e-mail her today and have her check again and reserve one!!
