Going to Aulani in May - considering using priceline to book flights - however, never used priceline before. Anyone used them?? Thoughts?? Thanks!!!

My concern with using Priceline for flights is that you have very little control over the flight times (very early/very late), the number of segments and the delays between segments. Sometimes a flight that typically takes 7 hours if you booked it directly can wind up 17 hours given Priceline's "least cost routing" methods.

Also -- you will likely be denied mileage credits, even if you end up on a carrier with which you have a loyalty account.

Personally, I like Priceline for cars ... but rarely for flights or hotels.

I have used them for rental cars 1/2 a doz times thrilled! 6$ 8$ 9$ a day for prem cars!

I have used them for 1 night 2 night stays in Grand Rapids, Chicago, and Cleveland. ALL 4 or 5 star hotels at 1/2 the list price.

I have not used them for flights but a friend did.. she got a 2 - 4 - 5 hour lay over every time, and always so far on a spirit flight, off memory it was DTW to either MCO or FLL. She has done it more than once and pretty much always got who ever is the cheapest flight going out.. always spirit. She saved like 50$ a ticket, so for her it was worth it .. prop 50$ might not be for me on a 200- 300$ ticket, but on a 1000$ HA ticket.. 250$ pp might do it though .. . also with SW or Delta covering bags.. the 50$ pp to me.. is less..

Thanks for the info.... I was thinking the same thing on the savings, it could be very substantial to Hi. - as for layovers, I can do a few hours, no biggie, our son is 15, so, no little ones to worry about. We also do not fly often, so no worries on the "mileage credits". I guess my fear is like a 27 hour flight or something insane!! lol

I have not personally done airline tickets, just hotels and rental cars, but there are forums where you can get an idea of what people are bidding and what they are getting for their bids. So you can look up what people are bidding for Hawaii flights, and what they end up getting. Maybe that would ease your fears a bit. This is the website I use to monitor my hotel bids, she also does rental cars and airline tickets too. If you google "bidding for travel" it's the first website that comes up (right under the priceline ad!) For some reason I can't post a link to it. Oh wait, figured it out:
