Hi there! We're planning a trip to DL in August (I know, I know) and I am getting confused about all my hotel options. I was thinking of trying Priceline and asking for a four star suite. Has anyone here done that recently and what did you get? Thanks!!

On Priceline you can choose the hotel/motel level you want.

There are 1/2 levels inbetween sometime. I don't know if there are any four star or resort level places in the Disneyland area. You can not bid on a Suite. All rooms from Priceline are the hotel / motels standard room which is usually the lowest level of amenities and they guarantee a room for 2 people.

You cannot bid on a suite on Priceline. Hotwire will allow you to book a suite. Check out http://www.betterbidding.com/ for help with Hotwire. Use www.biddingfortravel.com for Priceline. I stayed at the Doubletree (the regular Doubletree, NOT the new Suites) in October for $50 per night using Priceline. It was nice and clean, the staff was great and my DD liked the pool but it was cold in October. They have a free shuttle that leaves the hotel hourly and returns hourly starting at 2:30 PM. The shuttle ride is about 15 minutes. You can request an earlier pick-up by calling the hotel. I thought I would be annoyed by the shuttle, but it worked great!
