Price matching at Walmart

How does this work for groceries? Do you just show them the flyer from a competing store at the register and they give you that price. If you have several items does it take forever? Is there a certain mileage limit for how far away the store is? Our walmart is about 20 minutes away but if they price match with the stuff my store has on sale it might be worth the trip. What are the rules?

That's how it works at my store, and yes it takes a bit of time because they have to punch in reason codes, etc.

I just did this Saturday at my WalMart. It has to be exact same item (brand, weight etc....). It depends on the cashier that you get how far they go to verify. I have had ones that just took my word for it and some will scrutinize everything in the ad to make sure you have the exact same product. For me it is still worth it just not to have to go to several stores to get the best price.

I do it all the time with soda...Just show the add and its done! A word of advice though..if the deal is obtained through say a CVS Card or something of that nature, they will NOT take it.

I would call them ahead of time and see if they match to a particular store- and I would get the name and position of the person who you talk to as well!
It should not take long unless they hassle you, and if they start to hassle you, ask for a manager.
