This has happened to me twice now and i'm beginning to feel a little spoiled.
Last july my mom planned a last minute trip to Vegas for her birthday and I was scoping out plane tickets and they were all over $500 so i was delaying making the plunge.
I looked one minute than I went back to see what the cost was with miles (still too many to justify) so i went back to looking using cash again and the price had dropped over $150 in just a matter of 5 minutes.
Just the other day I was looking at plane tickets out to California the flight times i was hoping for were at the high end of $500 which for a last minute trip means i'm not going. This is just a fun trip mind you so getting a good deal is preferable. I scoped out a few other airlines most of which were the same or some even higher.
So i went back to my handy dandy airline and look at miles, which were one of the lowest miles rates possible so i was thinking well i can use the miles (though i was planning on saving them for a rainy day) I go back and double check the cash option again (because i amm indecisive) and voila over $200 cheaper.
$335 from Flint to John Wayne (including all taxes and fee's).
Now i don't know what kind of deals y'all find, but that sure made me excited!
So when you're scoping out plane tickets just know there is hope and dreams come true!
That was all on Delta Airlines by the way.
