Priate Night Weapons Question

We have a group of 23 traveling on the Wonder in June and all of us are looking forward to Pirate Night and are in the process of preparing costumes. Given the security issues both on land and on the ship, does anyone know if the kids are allowed to have plastic or wooden swords for their costume?

I am not sure, but last fall they would not let us roll our cannon's on board!

They do sell kid pirate costumes at one of the stores on the ship. They also sell swords, I think the store is Mickey's Mates. Along with eye patches, shoulder parrots and pirate hats.

I found some inflatable swords at Party City. They should be easy to pack.

I think as long as it's in checked luggage, it's fine. We've carried light sabres and those guns that you find all over WDW. My nephew tried to travel on the airplane with one of those play guns and they took it. That's when we learned that it had to be checked.
