T minus 21 days and counting.... 20 days out from our wonderful trip to WDW and Wilderness Lodge. Myself and Catwoman on the prowl.
Right now, Catwoman and Racer X are getting ready to come home from their two week trip to Italy. I think of them every day, even now when I am sitting at Skates http://www.skatesonthebay.com/, overlooking the bay and sipping a lavendar Cosmo.
I still would love a drink right now from the Forbidden Isle www.forbiddenislandalameda.com, a tiki bar in Alameda. I think they put liquid crack in their drinks because I swear I can't stop Jonesing for them. My favs are: Painkiller, Missonary's Downfall and the wonderful Chamborlada. They even have an old school WDW Poly drink, the Leilani Volcano.
So much has happened since my last trip and so much is still the same. I am still poor, despite my lavendar Cosmo and I still don't have a real job. But I DO have a coupon so let me give you a description of my dinner:
Hot Crab and Artichoke Dip: BIG pieces of lump crab (not that shedded stuff) mixed with artichoke in a hot, creamy, cheesy sauce, served with soft foccacia bread points. It is so yummy but I only eat half so I dont fill up.
I wonder if dining solo at The World is like this. Lots of writing or reading or looking about while you wait for your food.
The Bay is really lovely. Light fog hugs the coast but you can still see "The City", Alcatraz and the Golden Gate. At a distance with no yapping, freaky politicians, it looks perfect. This really is a beautiful city from across the bay. A lone sailboat glides into view, sunlight bouncing off the water, sparkling. It reminds me of dancing.
I am having to sell my house. Most of you would keel over dead at what an 800 sq ft house goes for. I just hope to clear my note and fees. I don't think of money now, just packing, staging and cleaning. My large cat just sits on the bed and mocks me with his contemptuous silence.
The next course is Prime Rib, rare. All red and bloody, just the way I like it with fresh grated horseradish. Catwoman and I use to cook meat (or not cook it so much) on the outdoor grill and eat it with our bare hands, blood running down our arms, dripping off our elbows. Try it. It's liberating.
The sailboat is tacking into the wind now. It looks like a painting. Gods, this is better than wrapping cups in plastic.
The Prime Rib is good but mine is better. My parents, who are not prone to exageration, said it was better than our meal at Alice Waters place Chez Panisse. This meat was a bit salty but the potatoes were creamy and the veggies perfect.
I still haven't succeeded in meeting George Lucas. You see, I just know as soon as he meets me, he will want to marry me. My mother would ba happy if I just married someone, anyone, as long as they weren't a felon. My last 2 ex's should be in prison. I'm never going to meet George Lucas. I'm going to be a crazy cat lady. Brilliant.
I have them box my key lime pie. I am just too full to eat it right now (though I will say it was creamy with just the right amount of bite). Now its back home to wrap more things in newspaper. If I'm lucky I'll be home before dark. Do you know if you watch the sun set into the ocean and are really quiet, you can hear it hiss when it hits the water?
