Cast:Ro, aka "geek chic" age 32. Certifiable Disney maniac.
DH: 25 (I know, I'm so bad LOL)World's most amazing man, dedicated step-dad, and all around angel. Converted Disney maniac.
DD 7 and 3/4's (extra months are so important at that age): born disneyphile.
Dear Dad: 62: original Disney nut in the family. Had ressies for the Contemporary before the park was even finished being built. Has never stopped going since. This will be his 43rd trip. Very special because we nearly lost him suddenly 2 years ago, we are celebrating that we still can take him to WDW with us! This trip is all about spoiling him to pieces!!!
Schedule so far:
Thursday 10-ish Nonstop flight to MCO. Bring plastic crochet hooks and yarn to make stuff for charity to pass the time in flight. Fun and productive
1-ish Hope Mears driver is there to meet us on time (will call day before to remind them that they blew it last time!)Motor to WDW. Shreik with delight when going through gates.
1:45-2:ish: Watch look on Dad's face as we arrive for our first ever stay at the GF. See amazement in his eyes when he sees the Concierge come get us to sweep us away to SLC. Brief arguement when we refuse to let him pay a penny of the room charge. He will fight it, but I will win
3pm: Scream with joy when seeing room for the first time. Repeat as necessary.
3:15, clatter and waddle into rented wheelchair, and jump a monorail to MK! B-line for Buzz and TTA, then POTC. After that, wherever our fancy takes us. Find Pal Mickey somewhere along the way and get him in on the fun.
Dinner at CRT: Prime rib....lalglahglghalgah (homer simpson noise) something chocolate for dessert is likely.
Other PS's for the week:
Princess Storybook breakfast
Chef's de France
Chef Mickey (must find stickey mickey...)
Ohana
California Grill
1900 Park Fare (DD has no idea Cindy will be there, got her a special gown for the event)
1900 park fare breakfast last day (sniff)
Theme for this trip: Spoil my guys! This trip is all about them, and they have no idea I have baskets coming from the florist for them on our second day. They are treasure chests filled with snacks, chocolate coins and rum. They are both POTC fanatics and their favorite line is "But why is the rum gone?" LOL DD will get a basket with princess stuff; a doll, some chocolate, a crown. Forecasted reaction: Smiles with scattered screaming and a chance of squeals
Goals for the trip: Perhaps sneak in a head/shoulders massage for me, Dad expressed interest in the spa too so we'll see what happens; to take things at a leisurely pace. DD has requested ample swimming time, hopefully the weather will cooperate. I'd love to be able to squeeze in an afternoon tea somewhere (a long time dream of mine) and some shopping for new monorail goodies for my collection!
I had typed this up before and so much better but for some reason the board ate it, ack! So hopefully this time it'll work.
Stay tuned for updates, and if you hear screaming next Thursday in the vicinity of the GF, don't worry it's only me, overcome with joy! Time to start packing and finishing up those envelopes for mousekeeping! I still can't believe we're staying at the Grand...I've dreamed of this since I was seventeen years old!!!
