Pretrip for June: Spreading the Disney addiction.. The "cute" gear 4/25

:) We woke up bright and ealry for our last day at the most joyous place in the world, I was so sad!!!:sad1: I really didn't want to leave, there was still so much we hadn't seen or done!!! Why hadn't I booked our trip for longer?!?!

So we got ourselves ready, took our luggage to the ME waiting area and hopped the bus to Downtown Disney. We took in the sights, looked around at a few stores. We went into a diabetic coma.....I mean Goofys Candy Co.

DISNEY192.jpg

I think I even got a cavity just walking through there!
We stopped by the Christmas store and found this little set up, so we took kenzie's pic there and actually used it as our Christmas Cards this year! Walgreens had an online photo set up to make your own photo cards, and they had some Disney choices, so we of course used those, they turned out adorable!!

DISNEY189.jpg

We tehn had our appointment for Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique. i don't thinka t the time that it had been open for very long. The whole experience was so sweet. Kenz of course wanted to wear her Minnie dress again! They treated kenz like a princess from the very beginning, always adressing her as Princess Mackenzie.......I was actually hoping she woudn't get too used to this royal treatment hehehe ;) They were all extremely pleasant to us, and Mackenzie was very enthralled by the whole thing. At the end when they brought her crown, they even brought it on a little white satin pillow!

After lunch we went to Earl of Sandwhich, where I had perhaps the greatest sandwhich ever! To die for!!! Then back to POP where Kenz had to have one last pic taken in her fave picture taking spot.
DISNEY208.jpg

Seriously I have about 25 pics of her in this exact location, she absolutely had to have her pic taken there multiple times every day!!!! :confused3
When we got back to POP we could see the line forming for the ME bus. Thats when Tim kinda lost it a little bit. He was like no way am I riding another bus with all those people!!! he seen a taxivan and the driver said it was 50 bucks to go to the airport, so Tim pounced on that offer. It was nice to have a more peaceful ride to the airport, even though the driver did drive like a crazed maniac!!
At the airport we had some time to kill, so we looked around the stores there and Mackenzie had one last Florida pic taken
DISNEY213.jpg

All too soon we were headed on board back to our one stoplight town surrounded by nothing but corn! The End of what we thought was our "once in a lifetime" trip

Thanks all for reading my old trip report and now I can get on to telling you all about how our June trip came to be!!!!:goodvibes :cheer2:

Oh and can I also mention that before we left DTD, we stopped at the Kodak store to find out how to use our photopass card, when Tim was like well, do you have the card...and I said, no you have the card, ... and he said no you have the card....etc. It dawned on us that the photopass guy at BBB still had the photopass card! We rushed back there and he had gone to lunch :sad2: We didn;t have time to wait for him to come back so *poof* all those pics were gone!! :sad1:

:sad2: so sad about the photo pass card! I loved your report! :thumbsup2 Mackenzie is soo cute in those pics at BBB. I am so nervous about the bus situation as well, we have never stayed on property before so we'll see DH hates crowds. I have a feeling we will be using cabs quite a bit! Looking forward to reading about your upcoming trip!:surfweb:

:cutie: Ok as if you all have not seen enough pics of my DD~ I have to throw in a couple more! DD does competitive tumbling. Which is one of the reasons for our upcoming June trip! Well mackenzie has had cometition the last two weekends in a row and she placed first in her division at both of them!
EasterABmeet010.jpg

EasterABmeet011.jpg

Our state competition is this coming weekend to qualify for National Competition held in Daytona Florida~~hence the reason for our Disney trip! or excuse, whichever you prefer to call it ;)
For those of you who may not know what tumbling is, it is basically all on the floor. While gymnastics uses parallel bars, vault, balance beam, etc...tumbling is strictly "tricks" on the floor. Think rolls, cartwheels, round-offs, backbend walkovers, flips, etc
So anyways wish us good luck this upcoming weekend!!:goodvibes

I also wanted to share that DH Tim's birthday is tommorow! (34) We had friends over on Saturday and my friend who is going to WDW with us made his cake in "good humor" for DH, sice he loves Disney so much :lmao: **note I am being sarcastic, DH definetly does not feel the Disney Love like I do!
Anyway i thought you all would love the Disney cake she made!!

Isn't it cute!!!!! I loved it..plus she threw in some "gifts" for DH like a mickey pen, goofy key chain, and mickey and friends notepaper. LOL!!

Tiffany,

I'm so very glad that I'm all caught up now....I started reading, then stopped. Then came back a few nights later and forgot what was going on and had to start again. Then I got interrupted and had to begin again! (Definitely some of those pre-senior moments!) Or perhaps more blonde moments....hmmm.

I can't understand how my DD can read 2 or 3 books at the same time; I can barely keep 2 or 3 TRs straight! ;)

Anyway, I've thoroughly enjoyed reading about your past trip and am looking forward to the next!

:thanks: to all our troops and to their families!! :cheer2: for McKenzie's first place award!

Kathy

Congrats on Mackenzie winning her competitions and I wish her luck this weekend. :cheer2:

I love the cake for your DH's birthday!!! It is classic Disney!

I have really enjoyed your trip report and can't wait to hear more of your plans for the upcoming trip. I am very sorry you lost the Photopass card.

I was really sad about the photpass card too! It had some great pics on it! The bus situation can be a bit tedious, but it was mostly a problem when leaving the parks at night. We always were early to the bus stops to be there before park openings and when leaving for an afternoon break they weren't that bad either, but in the evening when everyone else is coming back to the resorts too.. YIKES!!!!!:scared:

I know what you mean about reading multiple trip reports, I get them all confuzzled, and I am neither senior or blond :lmao: I think this next trip report will have some far more interesting tales because I will not wait til a year later to write it and it will be a very large group, sure to provide some constant entertainment I am sure.

Congrats on Mackenzie winning her competitions and I wish her luck this weekend.

I was very disappointed about the photopass card, it was the only one that had any pics of me on it! I have one horribly hideous picture of me at WDW, and trust me it will not get shown here, but the other one I am sure had some great pics on it.
I hate the last day feeling, I so did not want to leave WDW! :sad2:

So how did this June trip come to be??
Well I have already left plenty of hints and clues and basically told you all flat out that it is due to my daughters tumbling competition.
DD takes tumbling and is on the competitive tumbling team. We found out last October that Nationals will be held in Daytona Beach Florida. :cool1: Which immediately got me thinking of you know where! Yep thats right good ole WDW. Well then enter Mr. Rain on my Parade, DH! "I think that we should wait and see if she actually qualifies for nationals before we decide to go back to Forida" :confused3 Hello, doesn't he remember anything from last year, I need more planing time!!! The bad part of all of this scenario is that DD could place first at every competition from now until state championships, fall on her butt and there goes her chance for nationals. It's not a cumulative thing to be able to go, state championship is you one shot to go. Now seriously all you WDW addicted peeps, do you really want to plan a trip in like 6 weeks?? No half the fun is in the planning!!
So I work on DH to get him to come around to my way of thinking...you know away from the dark side! Other families on team get to talking about plans too. Should we wait, should we just go for it, should we make plans and cancel if child doesn't make it ????
We are over at our wonderful friends house for dinner one night and talk turned to Nationals and what were they planning to do. Well me and my dear friend Jana both are on the same page of lets just go for it!! They pretty much already know they will qualify for nationals with at least one of their kids, because their 11 year old boy rarely has enough competition to fill the 10 national level slots. Then talk turns to wouldn't it be fun to go to WDW together?? WHY YES IT WOULD!!!
Over the next few weeks DH comes around more and more and we decide to go for it. A trip to WDW before Nationals! WOOOHOOOOO!:cool1:
Talk to our friends more and more to make sure we would be compatible for travelling together. Before we knew them they had also been to WDW when their youngest daughter was still a baby. She stayed home with grandparents and they took their boys to WDW for a week. Loved it staying on site at one of the Allstars. They had used the Ultimate Guide to plan their trip and also were firm believers in Park openings/afternoon breaks/back to parks. They also had the same type of eating style as us, one table service, one counter service and grab and go type breakfasts:thumbsup2 I also clued her into Tour Guide Mike after raving so much on how we loved it last year, so she promptly signed up for TGM as well. We poured over calendars, ironing out dates. They wanted to spend some time at the beach as well. Cued us into the Clearwater area and all it had to offer, DH defiently wanted to do part of this as a beach vacation and honestly so did I. We have never been to the beach! :beach:
So it was soon time to set it all in stone.
Our trip would be from 6/14-6/26.
Now it was where would we be staying. Jana's brother has a timeshare near Disney, he offered to let them use that. We decided to stay at Port of Orleans Riverside. It looked so beautiful and relaxing. Not that we didn't like POP, but I thought the peaceful inducing look of this resort would be great for DH. jana wanted to stay onsite, but comeon, a free timeshare condo...there is no way you can pass that up! So they will be staying at Orange Lake Country Club and Resort. I checked this palce out online, basically it butts up to Animal Kingdom, and omg this place is sooo nice! I am actually a bit jealous! It is gorgeous and has all kinds of activities! http://www.orangelake.com/tour_our_resort/home.html
So we got everyone booked where we were going to be staying.
How will we get there?? Well they knew they would definetly drive. With 6 people in their clan, it was much more economical for them to drive. For us it was more of a toss up since there is only 3 of us. But with the additional beach time, the possibility of also needing to go to Daytona we didn't want airfare plus the cost of car rental so we decided to drive as well. :drive: And if DH can avoid those buses sometimes, we know he's all about that!! ;)

So who all is going on this trip anyway?? Well let me remind you!
::MinnieMo ME! Tiffany, you can call me Tif! Proud mommy to Mackenzie! Sometimes proud wife of DH Tim (haha) ER nurse, Addicted to WDW who breaksdown at Fantasmmic and releases her frustrations by dunking DH and tossing her DD in the pool fully clothed :rotfl:
:eeyore: DH Tim! You know the type, not loving WDW as much as me, but he is a great and loving Daddy and spoils our daughter sensless. Hardworker, give you the shirt off his back type of guy. Kids flock to him for some reason, I think because he is the biggest kid of all!
:tinker: DD Mackenzie (7) Spunky is a good term for her, moods can change like the wind. The one I wish was a princess but honestly she is more :jester: :rockband: :clown: Wants to be a racecar driver when she grows up if that gives you any clues about this girls personality!
And now to our Friends who will be accompanying us!
:flower: Jana~ She is like the ultimate Mom, can whip up yummy brownies, Disney cakes and Mickey shirts..all out of water, duct tape and safety pins ala Magyver...know the perfect games or crafts to keep kids entertained, seemingly endless patience, and a nurse too!
 Paul~ DH to Jana, pretends to be less than enthusiastic about me and Jana's WDW planning but he's getting excited I can tell. Plan to get him and Tim matching "Grumpy" shirts with Grumpy and Grumpier on the back. We'll see who gets which one!!
:smooth: Michael (16) and can I say newly turned 16~~umm I think he has already been in 2 or 3 minor accidents  and he may do part of the driving on our trip! I don't really know him well, he lives with his Mom in Missouri, but every time I have met him he has always been a nice kid. And if I was 16 again I would feel comfortable saying he is super cute.
:tigger: Andrew (11 in a few days) Smart as heck, ADD but does well on his meds but it is noticeable in the evening times, getting the Hidden Mickey book for his b-day, doesn't want to ride Pirates or Coasters!!(now the coasters I can understand, at least I will have someone to wait with me!)
pluto: Bryce (8) a great kid, wonderful big brother to his younger sister, and according to Mackenzie, he screams like a girl. I don't want to know what level of harassment she was doing to him to find that out! Pretty unsure of the coasters too, but I think he may be more daring than we think.
princess: Kaylee (almost 5) definetly the princess type, wants to ride everything possible, so excited to meet Cinderella and the other princesses. A real fashion diva!

Ok so there you have it! Our cast of characters! More to come so be on the look out!

Tif - Sounds like a great bunch and I know this trip will be great for you all!!:cheer2: :grouphug: Can't wait to hear more!!! :thumbsup2

Yes my friends....yeah you too..you know the ones who read and don't post, making me feel all lonely, I see my "views" numbers rising, so someone has got to be reading my mindless blabbering.
As I responded to twob4him...Our group is getting bigger..I mentioned before we are also taking my cousin Grant..it is also fitting that we give him his proper introduction:

:dogdance: Grant (13) my cousin, super kid, farm boy, like I mentioned before...uhh you don't want to be "downwind" from him...he can clear a room, this 1800 mile car ride we will be having gas masks installed similar to those oxygen masks that pop down on planes  It will be his FIRST TIME TO DISNEY! When I was telling him about all our plans and ADR's, his question was..."are we still going to have time to ride any rides?" :lmao: This kid sunburns so easily, thats my only concern with him!

When I added him to our reservation....which was easy peasy, Disney was more than happy to add him and take some more of our money!....anyway when i added him I changed my request from Mansions in POR to the Alligator bayou section with a trundle bed...hope we get it, Mackenzie loves him, but doesn't want to share a bed with him; for obvious reasons

PLUS one of my older cousins is going to be going at the same times as us, same exact dates, They will be staying at POR-FQ!! Her and her Dh are a few years older than I am and have a 9 year old daughter Katie and 4 year old daughter Alex. :goodvibes They are eating at most of the same places we are and were able to get ADR's within 10-15 minutes of ours at everyplace! They were also able to book their two girls into Bibbidy Bobbidy Boutique at the same exact time as our girls, so it will be sooo much fun for all of them!:goodvibes This will also be their first trip to Disney!

Ok all I am off to finish getting packed up to head to Chicago in the morning, I will be home Sunday night. I am soooooo nervous for Mackenzie and our dear friends kids, really all the kids on our team! Keep your fingers crossed and spread some pixie dust our way for Mackenzie that she qualifies for Nationals!!!pixiedust:

Okay, I admit it... :goodvibes this has been me!!! I've been reading for a while and just haven't posted!! Love your trip report and pre trip report!!! As you can see from my counter we are also going in June, but we'll be there in the beginning of the month! This will be our third time in 2 years and this time it WASN'T my idea... I think I finally converted DH!

:cheer2: :cheer2: Good luck to your DD!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Amy

Oh good!!! Tiff and Tim are moving to the Bayou section near us!!!! Who Hoottyyy :cool1: :woohoo:

Boy that sure is a big group...are you renting an entire floor? How many rooms is that? ;) We requested building 14,15 or 27!

:scratchin I betcha a few showers and some pool action will solve the "issue" :snooty: with Grant. Then soak him in sunscreen!

Here is some well wishes :yay: pixiedust: :cheer2: :car: for your travels to the competition and for the competition itself! Can't wait to hear how it all works out! :thumbsup2

OK I am going over the the June thread and check out your schedule! popcorn:: See ya Sunday!

Woohooo Lets just say our State Tournament was great!!!!!
:cheer2: :cheer2:

Mackenzie qualified for National competition!!! She placed 8th in the state!! She competed against 28 girls, so we are pretty proud of her!
Here's my girl in 8th spot:
State2007019.jpg

Our travelling partners enjoyed some great success too!
:flower: Jana's son Andrew:tigger: is a State champ, 1st place!
Her son Bryce pluto: is also a State champ!!! 1st place!!
and not to be left out Kaylee princess: qualified for nationals as well in 3rd place!!!! WOOHOOo It was a great weekend for all of us as well as many of Mackenzie's teammates! Plus we had a ton of fun and did way too much shopping in Chicago, but hey it is one of the things I do best ya know!

Here are some other interesting developments!
We now know that National Competition for 2008 will be in Cincinatti Ohio, no offense to anyone from Ohio, but this doesn't have me very excited, but....rumor is that they are working on getting National Competition for 2009 to be held at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex!!!! :woohoo: I am almost ashamed to admit I could almost see myself turning into one of those "pageant mom" types over that one!! :scared1: LOL!!! Kidding, I couldn't be like that! at least I hope not anyway!

Other interesting news, I sent DH :eeyore: to the Disney store today to buy some Disney Dollars after he got off work, since it is near there. Well you know Mr. Rain on my Parade, dark side, non Disney lover??? Guess What he did?!?! :confused3

Bought himself two Disney shirts!!!!!!!! One with mickey on it and one with Grumpy!!!
CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT!?!?! heck I seen it with my own eyes and I still don't believe it!!
I was teasing him about it saying he was secretly excited for the trip and he came back with, well they were on sale for $4.99 so I thought what the heck I can wear them to work and not have to worry about getting them all greasy :rolleyes1
LOL Suuuuuure hunny, whatever you say!!!!!!

Congrat to DD :cheer2: :cheer2: Also congrats to your friends kids that is great!!! Here is a little pixiedust: pixiedust: for Nationals and for it to be at WDW in 2009!!!

I think it is hilarious your DH came home with 2 t-shirts from himself when he went to the Disney Store...no one is excited or anything.

BTW your DD is too cute in the picture you posted!!! And the little one next to her in the pink and maroon looks so excited.

Congratulations to you DD. COME ON NOW, WE ARE FROM CINCINNATI!!!:rotfl: Maybe you can stay at the Great Wolf Lodge or visit kings Island, or visit me :goodvibes
Lesley

Lesley

I said no offense! :lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:
LOL!

I didn't know they had a Great Wolf Lodge there, that would definetly be one of my top choices to stay, we were looking at doing a trip to Wisconsin Dells later this summer and were looking at staying there, it looks fabulous!!:thumbsup2 I forgot about Kings Island...probably for good reason, that is a big "coaster park" right?? You know how well I get along with those!!! :scared1: But I am sure it would be in the mix of plans if DD does qualify next year! And possibly meet the Dis famous timandlesley... oh yeah for sure! That is if we don't meet you at spectro or on the Port Orleans buses first!!
