President Bush saluted my Navy neighbor!

My neighbor is in the Navy based at Willow Grove, PA. President Bush flew in yesterday to do some campaigning in the area. My neighbor was in uniform, but off-duty so he and his wife went to an area that the motorcade was to go by in front of local restaurant. The motorcade pulled right up beside the crowds and when my neighbor saw the President he saluted. President Bush saluted back. For a 20 year career military man that doesn't make a big deal about anything, this was a big deal. His wife stopped by to share the news and I had tears in my eyes. She said that he was the only one in uniform where they were standing and that the crowd was so excited for my neighbor to receive a salute from his Commander in Chief.

Just wanted to share this non-political scene as I think it really would mean alot to anyone that has any connection to the military.

President Bush has more class, consideration and respect for all people than most others in any kind of situation similar to his. He deserves our respect. I appreciate having a president with good morals and a good heart.

DH is retired from the Submarine Service after 20.5 years. I agree that this is really a big wow!! No wonder your neighbor is thrilled!
