This is going to be a loooong journey as we arent really planning on going until MAY 2012!
But, I couldn't stand not having a Pre-Trip Report started! SO, welcome to our adventure.
The Cast:
Me - (32)
DH - (31)
DD - (4)
Backstory -
I grew up loving all things Disney. DH, not so much. The only reason I convinced him to go on this trip is because of DD, our miracle baby (we were only given a 4% chance of even conceiving her!) who isn't such a baby anymore... She loves Disney just as much as I do, if not more. She is at an AWESOME age where Magic is real, Cinderella really lives in a castle in Florida, and Pixies change the seasons!
DD has really wanted to go to Disney World for a couple of years now but DH and I wanted to wait and take her when she was old enough to enjoy most of what the parks have to offer. We told her that she "had to be 5" to go to Disney World. I am pretty sure that she thinks that this is a Disney Law, and will be totally confused seeing all of the kids there under 5, but that is our story and we are sticking too it.
For now, we haven't even committed to a resort in our planning. We are, OK I AM (DH could care less about planning but just wants to go and have fun), going back and forth between the Yacht Club (location and Stormalong Bay) and the Dolphin (its cheaper
). Today marks just over 200 days out for us and I am getting antsy to be booked and secure the dining reservations that I know we have to have.
The biggest day that we are planning for will be Saturday, DD's 5th Birthday. The idea is to make this trip a special invitation from Mickey & Minnie to DW for a Birthday Celebration. I am still wondering how to suprise her that we are going and the only thing that I am certain of is what we will do on her actual Birthday. Hopefully, we will start out the day at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique, followed by an invitation (crafted by me of course -even though I think Disney is totally missing out by not offering official invitations for purchase) to breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table. We will spend the rest of the day at the MK where I will have to somehow incorporate another invitation from Mickey Mouse, inviting DD to dinner at Chef Mickeys to celebrate with Mickey and all of his pals.
Anyway, feel free to offer tips and advice on must-do's. As I said this trip is a work in progress and I can't wait to see how it unfolds.
