I was asked to talk about the Disney Wish to our Mickey club meeting next week.

We have been on the cruise once and have lots of pictures.

There are about 40 people going on the Wish for the Holiday cruise in November...some have already been on the Wish, some not.

Any suggestions how to do this.... want, of course, to make it interesting.

There will be a laptop and projector available.

Have you been on the Wish yourself?

Most important, know your audience:
- Besides those 40, are there more people coming?
- Have these people ever cruised (with Disney) before?
- Of the 40 people have they (with Disney) cruised before?

It will make a difference if you have to present Disney Cruise Line or just the Wish, depending on the level of knowledge about DCL. If they are hardcore DCL fans, they might know a lot already.

- Do you know anything about if they are interested in the building or the design of the ship, you can make it like a virtual ship tour.

- Or are they more interested in the food & entertainment?

I would start with who are you, what is your Disney/DCL/Wish background. Short history of DCL and then go into the Disney wish with some facts about the ship, size, how many guest/crew, etc. What routes does the ship sail. And then... it really depends on what your audience will find interesting.

- Does your club have these meetings more often?
- Can previous speakers maybe help?

Thank you!

I updated the post that we have been on the ship...I am putting some trivia questions together and probably going to find some Hidden Mickey pictures to show.

i agree with this. i'll add that it might be helpful if you make yourself familiar with what the Magic offers vs dcl's other ships AND any changes that may have happened/will be happening on your upcoming cruise vs. previous sailings. i say this in particular b/c some years ago while on one of the (then) newest ships we were asked to participate in a (for lack of a better term) 'survey meeting' while onboard. the group consisted of cruisers who were on the ship for a repeat trip onboard the ship following that ship's initial inaugural voyages and asked about how this trip compared to their previous. by and large people were surprised at how many changes had occured (in their view both positive and negative) in such a short period of time. many had assumed that their second cruise on the same ship would be identical in experience and had planned accordingly but had they known of ehancements, newly added activities and dining changes would likely have planned a bit differently.

I would start with what is the purpose of your presentation? Is it to be informative, entertaining or some other purpose? Someone clearly asked you to speak since they think you have something interesting to offer the audience. Hopefully that person provided some direction on what is expected. What have others presented in the past when speaking at other club meetings?

Other details like how long your presentation is expected to be would also be helpful in deciding how much detail you will be able to cover. If you include trivia questions, how do you plan to get replies from the audience?
