My ds will be off to college next week so I had called his doctor on his insurance a month ago and could not get an appt till a day before he left so I set another appt for out of pocket insurance with a difference doctor and paid for his exam and glasses. Well after the fact, his doctor who accepts our insurance called back and gave us a new appt since space opened up and I accepted it because it is covered and could use an extra pair of glasses which are insured and covered also. So here is my question:
1st doctor (contact and glasses)
contacts vision is -250right eye and -225 left eye
Glasses vision is -225 right eye -225 left eye
(we ordered and paid for glasses/contacts with the numbers above)
I asked 1st doctor if the # difference between contact and glass will be okay and she said yes it is common
2nd doctor (for glasses only)
Glasses vision -275right eye -275 left eye

(ordered glasses with the -275 number)
do any of you wear glasses with different numbers?
do you think it is okay to?
I told my son that he can try the 225 numbered glasses and the 275 numbered glasses and see which one he likes and can see better with and if he chooses the 275, than the 225 numbered glasses would have been a total waste and money lost for me since it was out of pocket so I wanted to know if anyone wears different glasses with different numbers.
It makes me so upset that 2 eye doctors gave different prescription numbers and I do not know which glasses will be better for him until he tries them on which will be sometime next week. UGGGGG
