Preschool teachers how do you stay awake during nap time

[Help Please!]

I think you said that you work at an elementary school...if so, I would get out of the room and help other teachers. I would guess that pre-k/ preschool nap time is lunch time for some older kids, so I would recommend helping in the cafeteria...even helping the custodians sweep/wipe off tables if lunch is over, they always appreciate the help! If that doesn't work, our library can always use help checking books in/out, or putting them back on the shelves. Also, the front office likes help putting things in teacher mailboxes.

I ALWAYS have something to do during naptime. I'm either planning or prepping. If I didn't have that I suppose I would clean, re-organize, work on bulletin boards. If I wasn't the one in charge I would definately ask others if I could help them in any way. If I ever feel myself getting sleepy, I walk around the room or get a cup of water/tea. NEVER EVER fall asleep. It would not go over well if I saw someone sleeping when they were supposed to watch the kids.

If you are continually at the point of exhaustion, you need to get more sleep the night before. I would also look at my lunchtime diet. Maybe you're not eating the right foods.

I am happy to report that this year has not been a problem thank you for your help, using nap time for lunch and to learn kid apps
