Prepay wifi

Can you prepay wifi likes tips, I do not want to just add money to my onboard account it needs to be specific for wifi. I need it for work and would like my employer to put it on their credit card prior to me sailing.

At this point there is no way to buy WiFi in advance. Only putting money on and then immediately buying whatever you need.

Some lines have buy in advance but DCL is not one of them.

They will list it on your account as internet access. If you don't want your employer to see all your charges, sign up for it first thing when you get on board before you start spending money and go to guest services ask them to print you a copy of your bill so you can turn that in by itself.

In your own mind you can think of it as prepaying something in particular (people often talk about "prepaying tips" for example), but that's not how it works. If you want to give Disney some of your money ahead of time for some reason, feel free, and they'll use it to pay off whatever charges you accrue (tips, wifi, any of 50+ different categories you can spend money on).

Yep.

But, to "prepay" for internet, that's not an option. As noted, what can be done is go the first day to Guest Services, and pay for the charged (to the onboard account) internet, then get the printout to show it's paid for.

Thanks for info, was hoping to get the wifi bill settled before hand so we weren’t hit with a large bill especially since I’ll be using a cash account

It seems the survey that keeps popping up on the DCL site lately is about WiFi, so they may be looking into doing prepaid packages, but who knows how long that will take.

I don't know if you your employer would be willing to do this, but it might work since you said you wanted to use a credit card for the Wi-Fi charge. What you need is a copy of the order form for in-room gifts and amenities. There is a space on the form for you to add onboard credit. This allows you to add a specific amount of onboard credit to your account, such as the cost of a Wi-Fi package. It will allow you to use a credit card on that form.

Another option (as long as it is okay with your company) is purchase a Disney gift card in the amount for wifi at home and put the gift card in your account onboard

OP, Bonnie1222 has the best solution. As noted you can't prepay for an individual charge (except gratuities).

In regards to gratuities....you can do it two way before your cruise.....first way is to just put the amount of your tips as a shipboard credit on your account. Or, you can specifically prepay gratuities beforehand and it will show up as paid already on your reservation (as shown in Post #5).
