No. Just means that the people working at the lot aren't able to get their hands on your money. Since you pay directly to their computer system.

I suppose it's an advantage to already have some things paid for. So that the final tab isn't so daunting.

Thanks for the quick reply ! Seems silly to ask for money ahead of time , thanks they can wait

People arrive over a period of hours and take extra time to pay. Or everyone leaves in a 90 minute period, parking garage becomes a backed up mess. I'd rather pay up front.

You pay on arrival, not departure, right? So if you have pre-paid parking, you'd just show them that, instead of having to wait to pay?

IME, if you are paying with a credit card, you have to wait longer by pre-paying because you need to use the manned entry lane at the garage. If you are paying with a card, you can use the automated lane all the way on the right which has been the shortest line when I have arrived.

That makes sense and it's a plus for the 'pay at the port' side.

if the port can get you to pre pay

you can not be tempted by the BIG signs just outside the port offering parking for much less .....

Indeed, but then why not give an incentive to prepay, like a fast lane or a discount? Why make it more work to prepay. It doesn't even guarantee you a saved spot, does it? Preferred parking area? Anything?

Some people like to have some vacation charges paid before they even get they. It's nice to have the plane paid for months before the trip. We don't prepay for parking.

If you are booking a cruise 2 years in advance, pre-paying parking may save you from suffering a rate increase.

We never prepay and we've never had any type of parking backup. We do tend to arrive between 10:00-10:30AM so maybe afterwards there are backups. Taking #11 and #12 next month. If there was an incentive to prepay, we would, but don't see any reason to do it ahead of time.
