Ok, I'm going to a scrapbooking week-end next week with my favorite cousin. I do this once a year with her. I usually spend at least the 1st 36 hours trying to organize stuff. I want to do that before I get there this year. What do you take to a scrapbooking week-end? What is the best way to prepare so I can get the most done in the week-end?

Thanks. I guess I didn't search well enough. I didn't even think about there being good ideas on that thread. I was thinking it would just be an explanation of what one was.

Thank you so much. The links are very helpful. I'm working on sorting through pictures tonight and tomorrow. I'll start looking for papers & embellishments one night during the week. I guess I do have time! Thanks again.

I got my pages together for the SDV in about 4-5 hoursd over the course of a week. I think I kitted about 200 pages during that time- I know I had over 130 layouts and most were 2 pages.

WOO! You are GOOD! I'm happy if I accomplish 10/hr.

I used lots of swap items and that helped me kit more easily. I don't worry about whether I had write or type journaling so after I finish kitting if I have time I start typing journaling. If I have time great if not I hand write journaling there.

I went to an all day crop this past saturday. 10 am-10pm. I got there about 11:15 and left at say 10:15 take an hour for meals etc i cropped for 10 hours. I got 42 pages done. Before I went I divided my pictures in layouts of 10 ie all the pictures need to do 10 layouts. I had about 55 layout pictures in my head. I wanted to work on two goals--using my CM perfect fit and completing an album where I would have layouts from every state I visited. I then divided my pictures with my perfect fit paper which ones went with what paper etc. no embellishments no extra just paper--from there i worked on a piece of looseleaf paper which had all the layouts--i put what i wanted to do with it etc ie sox game at fenway use baseball cricut. i had 34 layouts with the perfect fit paper. my state layouts were a little bit looser and not oraganized. it worked out very well and better than expected i went in with a plan and what to do. i have a cm folder that holds about 120/140 pictures i used this to organize my photos

Hi, I am also going away for a scrapbooking weekend in Nov. I can't wait and we can even wear our pjs all weekend. So what I have started is, I have all my scrapbooking paper and card stock in our living room, divided into colours. I even went through them and have a huge stack I don't want, I went through and picked out all my favourite papers I want to take. Then matched them with cardstock and paper clipped them in piles. Next is to go through pictures, stickers, stamps, inks, glues, tapes, my list will never and.

Sounds like you're on our way to having some great kits ready to go.

Do your pics and stickers next, leave the tools for last. And just bring the basics. And a notepad.
