Premium Plan for One Night Just for the Tours, LaNouba, etc.??

When I worked concierge at The Contemporary they would let Platinum Plan guests use the concierge lounges often. I did not get any emails from WL for our November stay recently.

Got the same mail for our October trip at the Poly. Not that we'll have any time to use the Concierge lounge :)

Hi Kungaloosh

I got an email from the Poly on Saturday but it was different to yours.

No list like yours. Just said, in summary:
  • thanks for the choosing the Poly
  • the IPO can do your bookings
  • click the link below
  • love and kisses

Interesting that your letter is different. I just checked our email receipt date, and it was Friday... perhaps they realized the error in their ways before sending out the Saturday batch (though why send out the 2nd batch in that case).

Whatever... I'm good with or without extra concierge services.

Looking forward to that fireworks cruise we'll share!

That's very true!

FWIW… I forwarded the Disney Destinations email to the Animal Kingdom Lodge IPO to make sure all of my reservations are all set for our trip in Sept. Animal Kingdom Lodge IPO responded to my message with the following:

“I apologize for the email. It looks like a system glitch is causing our partners at Disney Destinations to send PIP forms out to guests who already filled them out. Your reservations are all set. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help make your stay a magical one.”

From all I have read, it seems that most Platinum plans are granted club level access at the Animal Kingdom and Wilderness Lodges. At the other resorts, it appears that sometimes it is granted and sometimes it is not. I will definitely report back after my Sept. trip!

Ok, so I think I finally finalized my plans for my premium trip in September. I am going over Labor Day weekend (Sat-Sun) so some of the availability wasn't the best but I did what I could fit in. I'm not thrilled with the prospect of doing the golf lesson in the afternoon but I figure I will get a taxi ride back to my resort to check in on day 2 and it will be something different

Saturday 9/3/11
8:30-10:30 FW Segway tour
11:30-2:00 Lunch at Fultons and pick up Cirque tickets
3:00-4:00 Tubing
4:00-5:00 Parasailing x2
5:30-7:00 Dinner at California Grill
8:30-10:00 Cirque

Sunday 9/4/11
9:00-10:00 Jetski excursion
10:00-12:00 Fishing excursion
12:00-2:00 Lunch at Contempo (OOP) and boat rentals (or rest if I'm too tired)
3:00-4:00 Golf lesson
4:00-5:00 Travel by taxi to OKW and check in
5:00-6:00 Travel from OKW to Port Orleans
6:00-7:00 Carriage ride x2
8:30-10:00 Dinner at Nacrosses

Here is my primarily budget breakdown:
Segway tour: 90
Fultons Lunch: 75
Tubing: 165
Parasailing x2: 270
CA Grill: 75
Cirque: 90
Jetski: 135
Fishing: 270
Golf lesson: 75
Carriage ride: 90
Nacrossess: 90

Grand Total: $1433

That is not including tax on some items so I'm sure the total will be more.

From what i have heard DAKL will occasionly upgrade Platinum plan guests to Club Level Access, DWL not so often..Actually a "Guest" that has "Posted" to this "Topic" & stayed at DWL reported that they didn't get access to the Club Lounge.

Good Luck,If I wanted Club Level i myself would go ahead & book it

I wish WDW had not changed their length of stay for this plan. We were planning to book 1 night in Jan but this is no longer possible as there is now a 3 night minimum. It would add $3000 to our total so we'll just pay OOP for those things we want to do.

Never been to Fulton's but it seems a LOT of you out there love this place .
This is our first time on any dining plan ( we'll be on premium) but I was wondering - Can I order the filet steak with the lobster add on as my entree ?
( plus the regular appetizer and dessert etc ) without any extra charges ?
Is this something you're allowed to do ?
thanks in advance

I was just wondering what time the La Nouba box office opens? For some reason, I didn't think it was open all day and I haven't been able to find hours listed anywhere. Are they open in the afternoon?

Per ticketmaster the box office opens at 11:00AM. Only trouble I see is that the will call window does not open until 2 hours before the event, so might have to wait until the night to pick up the tickets.

I'm trying to work out my transportation and hopefully someone here knows (I am sure I've seen the answer somewhere on the Dis but I can't find it!!). This is our first time at an MK resort and I don't know where the boats launch to and from.

I need to get from the Poly to Wilderness Lodge then from Wilderness Lodge to the Contemporary. I didn't think the boat from the Poly went straight to either place so I figured I would take the Poly boat (or monorail) to the MK then catch the WL boat there. What I was less sure about was getting from WL to CR - is there a direct boat? Or will I have to go via MK again?

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hi,
I've read through most of this thread and have actually done the platinum plan for 2-3 nights a couple of times a few years ago. We are dvc owners and frequent guests and with the new per night minimum I just decided to
drop one night of our dvc reservation and do one night platinum before our Dream cruise. So, we have a dvc reservation at VWL the night before the plan (will keep trying to change so hopefully will be less moving resorts) , then the platinum plan at Beach Club villas Friday August 5th, and a DVC reservation for Beach Club Villas on Saturday August 6th so just need to check in / out and hopefully keep same room. Leave Sunday August 7th for Disney cruise.

The cast of characters--myself, husband--who have done many of the tours from previous platinum trip and parasailing and cirque and V&A, our kids--
oldest son who will be turning 13 the day AFTER we finish platinum plan, ds age 9 and dd 6. Also joining us will be my parents who haven't done any of the tours. So, with the different ages we know we'll have to split up some.

Here's what I've got so far:

Friday August 5th---check into BCV
gma and gpa to Epcot for Backstage Magic Tour.

myself, DH and kids--open---watersports at Sammy Duvalls or fishing or
archery? Any suggestions?

Right now at 5:30 we have California Grill (which we all love---kids have pretty sophisticated palates and love sushi) Followed by 9pm Cirque.

However, this doesn't leave much time for my parents to get cleaned up. So, I was also pondering switching to Hoop de doo (which amazingly we have never been to) and maybe also squeezing in a carriage ride before Cirque. This would give us one "casual" day.

Saturday August 6th Possibly have gma and gpa do Segway Tour at Epcot.
Also, they have 4 openings for Dolphins. However, they did tell me that even
though his 13th bay is next day, our DS would not be able to do Dolphins. I swam w/dolphins in Bahamas on honeymoon which sounds much better than this but I still would maybe like to try it here too.

Afternoon, I'm thinking lunch somewhere and spa treatments. I was even thinking we could do them at GF and swap off with the kids in the pool. Yes, I know that is pool hopping but since we are DVC members we should be allowed to. Then at 5:30 we have Victoria and Alberts with gma and gpa and oldest son. The younger two will be dropped off at Neverland Club and we will pick them up after dinner and hopefully do Wishes cruise.

So, anyone have any suggestions as my head is spinning!!:scared1: Of course, planning is half the fun!! Thanks!:)

I was thinking of doing this too...do they give you a certificate for Cirque and you exchange it at the box office?

Yes. You also need to have a reservation made in advance. But you pick up the actual ticket at the box office, and "pay" with the Cirque card you are given at check-in.

Do you have to use it that one day or does it say good until XXXX? Does anyone have any experience with this?

You have to use it during your package, which is actually either of the two nights on a one-night package: the night of your check-in and the night of your check-out.

I am not 100% sure on the first one, but I don't think that there is a direct boat to/from Poly at the WL. However, there is definitely a direct boat from WL to Contemporary. There are in fact two boats that make that route, one stopping at Fort Wilderness along the way, one a direct connection. So, for that second route, you don't have to go back to MK (unless you wanted to for some reason). You are dropped off at the back of the Contemporary, rather than the front, but generally, that's not a problem for most people. Just add in 3 or 4 minutes to walk up from the Contemporary Marina to get inside the Contemporary itself.

Hi everyone! :wave2:

I was browsing this board a few months ago and saw this thread. I read through the first few pages and thought, "Wow! That would be fun! I'd love to do that sometime!" And then I read recently that there would be a minimum stay for 2012, so it's spurred me on to do it this fall!

I have a couple of questions, so if you can help, I'd appreciate it!

1 - What is the booking window for tours? I can't find that anywhere.

2 - I've never taken a tour before - do you pay on booking or just give a CC number? If you're on the premium or platinum plan, do you just give your reservation number to hold it?

3 - To get tickets for La Nouba - can you call ahead to reserve your seats? Or do you have to wait till you have your voucher that you get when you check in?

4 - Re: using the dining credits. I know you only use one per meal, even if it's a signature restaurant that would normally require 2 TS credits. Do you get the appetizer/entree/dessert like you do on the Deluxe Dining Plan?

Thanks for your help! :cool2:

I have a couple of questions, so if you can help, I'd appreciate it!

1 - What is the booking window for tours? I can't find that anywhere. 180 days.

2 - I've never taken a tour before - do you pay on booking or just give a CC number? If you're on the premium or platinum plan, do you just give your reservation number to hold it? When you call to book your tour you give them your reservation number and your credit card number. You will only be charged on your credit card if you fail to show up and do not cancel 48 hours before.

3 - To get tickets for La Nouba - can you call ahead to reserve your seats? Or do you have to wait till you have your voucher that you get when you check in? You can call the box office and order your tickets, you will again give them your confirmation number and credit card number for a hold. There will be a voucher that you recieve when you check in that you give to the box office when you pick up your tickets.

4 - Re: using the dining credits. I know you only use one per meal, even if it's a signature restaurant that would normally require 2 TS credits. Do you get the appetizer/entree/dessert like you do on the Deluxe Dining Plan? Yes you got appetizer/entree/dessert at any of the sit down restaurants that are not a fixed menu or buffet.

Thanks for your help! :cool2:

Here you go.
