This took me a long time to write as the trip was last fall. But I figured since people are planning their trips for this fall right now some of the info might be useful. Also it contains a little info for the disabled. Mostly I wrote it for my family but if someone else enjoys it great!

Cast of Adventurers

Me: Shelly Disney Nut and wanting to go back to WDW for 12 plus years.
DH: Warren Converted Disney Nut
DS: Brandon, Age 7 Being raised right (a Disney Nut)

The desire for this trip started before I even left EPCOT the last time at age 16. I had everything planned out and the two last things on my list were to see the Rockettes who were performing in the theater and the American Adventure. Well I got to see the Rockettes but my Dad who is sometimes a scrooge said we have to leave now. I pleaded, begged, bribed, threatened and cajoled but he would not budge. It was time to leave and so we did. I made a vow as I walked out of the park that I would be back. I just didn't think it would take as long as it did.

Through the years of poverty, school, poverty, a very serious accident, a bad marriage, poverty, more school, poverty, a divorce, more school, poverty, a really good marriage, poverty, more school, adopting our son, more school and did I mention poverty I finally graduated from college with my Bachelor's Degree.

We decided as a graduation present to me for finally accomplishing my goal that we would go on the cruise and Disney week. We picked the week of our 6th anniversary. Of course as we live in Utah and you have to sell body parts for the plane fare and we thought Hey let's add a couple of extra days. So "Come with us..... (If you have watched the cruise video you have that song embedded in your brain.)

I was so exited for this trip that wouldn't you know it, I ended up with a sinus infection for my flight over. This would also be the time to add that Brandon has Tourette Syndrome, ADHD and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. This makes for some fun traveling at times. But I digress. Everything was going according to plan until Brandon decided he wanted to sit by the window. We did not see any problem with this plan until about his fifth trip to the bathroom. Did I mention that all 5 trips were during the meal service and that trying to balance 3 people's trays in the middle of an airplane aisle during moderate turbulence could possibly win me a spot in Cirque? Of course no one came offering me a contract when one of them was dumped missing the bald headed man in the seat in front of us by mere inches.

I was also sooooo prepared with my bag of tricks to keep him entertained (I thought). The surprises that were supposed to keep him entertained for 4 plus hours lasted 30 minutes and the in-flight movie was so totally inappropriate for children that when we touched down in Orlando I thought I would kiss the ground. I might have too except then my husband probably would have left me and by that time I was basically deaf (remember the sinus infection). Everything anyone said to me got the same response WHAT. Luckily my husband is very kind because I was at his mercy. Of course I alone knew all the reservation plans.

Off we went to find our luggage. Okay, I admit it I over packed. Now Warren does quite well in the physical strength department, but he is one man and our luggage was legion. Now our son has his health problems and I have mine from the accident in my early twenties. So every time our luggage needed to be moved from point A to point B we paid someone to help. We had so much luggage and it had to be moved so many times that I worried that we wouldn't have any money left to eat. We paid the shuttle driver in Utah, the skycap in Utah, skycap in Orlando, shuttle driver Orlando, and the Bellman. Writing it out doesn't seem like that much so maybe in my congested state I was tipping people for just looking at my luggage. Who knows maybe people are still talking about that strange woman in the Orlando airport yelling WHAT and flinging dollar bills at people. To tell you the truth that day was a blur. When we were planning the trip we made sure we picked a first night hotel with a pool in case we wanted to go swimming. We could have cared less. Warren brought me dinner up. It was fresh Mahi Mahi and very good. I ate and fell asleep with the help of the nighttime, sniffling, sneezing, coughing oh you know the rest.

Wow, what a start!

I can't wait to read the rest! :)

Sounds like a *great* start to me-lol! Thanks for writing!

you're just like, I always have fun remembering the unexpected and difficult things that happen while we are on vacations, even when it happed was not fun at all ;)
GREAT REPORT

Lety

I'm kind of warped that way. Even when things aren't going quite right I just say to myself this is what makes my vacation special and unique from everyone elses. And let's face it, humor is found in the dark side of things every time!

I can see these are going to be worth the wait. "Being raised right"--what a hoot!

Very funny! Good to see a sense of humour.

You are so bad Tiiiiiger

I am supposed to be out doing battle with the Japanese Beetles and I came in to take a small break. Thought I would relax by reading a post of two and unlucky for me and lucky for the beetles I am hooked on your report.

My husband will be so mad at -you-. I am going to blame you for the whole thing. LOL

Well, I thought I would sit down and read just one while I awaited the water timer to go off in my garden so that I could resume weeding.
This is too good -- the weeds will have to start without me.

Sorry, didn't mean to keep everyone from their yardwork. When you're all done, you're more than welcome to come do mine!;) Thanks for the kind comments. I feel like Sally Field. "You like me, you really like me."

Yes, we like you and your writing BUT not enough to come and do your yardwork. After all it is YOUR fault that we are behind in ours!! LOL

You should be aware that if a thread gets off topic they shut it down. Another one I was in just had that happen - - - so-------I think maybe you should change your comment to MOUSE, as in MICKEY to avoid having the same fate befall this thread.:earseek:

Okay, okay. It took you a long time to get these written and it took me an even longer time for me to find them and read them. I apologize for getting such a late start. I was looking for reports about trips to WDW in June and I found yours which were not at all about a trip in June.

I am so glad that I found them, though. I love your sense of humor :D I laughed a lot while I read this.

Can't wait to read about the rest of your trip.
