Pregnancy restrictions on rides at EPCOT?

Do you know if most rides are not available to pregnant women? The only few that I'm thinking of going on are Soarin', Ellens Energy, Spaceship Earth, and Nemo. I'm sending my husband with my dd6 on Test Track. I've been on it before, but I'm figuring it's too "intense" for someone pregnant. I'm just hoping I can enjoy a few rides or it would pretty much be pointless to go. I figured EPCOT would be better because there'd be even more restrictions at the MK.

Thanks!

There are no restrictions on any of those attractions that you want to go on.

You can look at the park maps for the attractions with warnings - they are marked with a red triangle on the map and also on a sign at the entrance to the queue.
This is a list of all the attractions that WDW has placed a warning on.
For Epcot here are the attractions with warnings:
  • Mission Space
  • Test Track
For Magic Kingdom:
  • Splash Mountain
  • Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
  • Tomorrowland Indy Speedway
  • Space Mountain
For Disney Studio
  • Star Tours
  • Rock N Roller Coaster
  • Tower of Terror
For Animal Kingdom:
  • Kilimanjaro Safari
  • Kali River Rapids
  • Expedition Everest
  • Primeval Whirl
  • Dinosaur

Soarin' doesn't have any warnings that would affect pregnancy; just heights and possibly motion sickness.

The Safari and Kali River Rapids at AK are listed because you can get unexpected hard bumps and drops during the course of the ride. The Safari is less bumpy closer to the front, but it is still bumpy. We sit in the front seat because youngest DD needs to stay in her wheelchair; we still get bounced around a lot. It all depends on which ruts your ride car hits.

G forces are the reason for not riding Splash Mountain. The big drop takes you down at a very extreme angle at a high rate of speed (I think you get to 40 mph). At the bottom, your ride car stops abruptly. That sort of combination of fast speed drop at an extreme angle and then abrupt stop can theoretically cause placental abruption - where the placenta actually peels away from the wall of the uterus. That's the main reason for warnings at Splash Mountain.
For rides like Dinosaur, Star Tours, Test Track, Big Thunder Mountain you are not moving that fast, but can experience sudden changes of direction that jerk you around a lot.

All the rides you mentioned at Epcot are slow moving rides. There's even a little boat ride in Mexico and Norway that you could probably do. The ride in Norway has a little drop like Pirates of the Caribbean. They do require you to step down into a boat, so I don't know if that would be a problem or not. The only two rides that you shouldn't do are Test Track and Mission:Space. I would think everything else would be fine. Living With the Land in The Land is also a very slow moving boat ride.

I didn't know about the ones in Norway and Mexico, thanks. Oh and I love living with the land...forgot to mention that. Plus you couldn't pay me enough to ever ride Mission:Space again! LOL I did like Test track, but that's not a big deal if I miss it this time. Stepping and walking aren't a problem, it's the walking a long time that's gonna do me in. I've never been this run down so early in my pregnancy before, so it's going to be a new experience for me this time.

Thanks for all the tips!

3 out of the last 5 times we've been, I've been pregnant! I still had a blast though. I just stayed away from the "mountains" and the intense rides. There are still a lot of other fun rides and fun memories to be made. Enjoy your trip and congratulations on the new precious one! :goodvibes

In truth, there are no attractions at Disney World a pregnant woman absolutely cannot go on. Just as someone with high blood pressure, a heart problem, or a back or neck issue can go on anything they want.

However, there are cautions posted for those conditions (and a few others). It's up to the individual rider to determine if it's safe for them. To be prudent, follow the caution signs as posted. In reality, talk to your doctor about what you can and cannot do. I have a neck problem and I've talked to mine about what I can do. So I do go on attractions that have the neck warning posted. Not all of them but some with my doctor's blessing.

Thank you. I'm actually a surrogate, so I will congratulate the couple. One little one to take care of was enough for me! LOL I only wish I could go pool hopping. But the pool at Pop Century and the water parks should be enough to exhaust me! LOL

Last time I went I was 7 mo pregnant. You can go on Soarin, so I went on several times! You can also go on Nemo, but not Test Track. Take lots of breaks!!!!!!! I actually had the best time last time we went, because it forced us to take our time and not rush from ride to ride. It kept it on a slower pace for the kids too, and they seemed more relaxed.

For animal kingdom, I did go on the Safari and the kali river rapids while preg.. I feel the most imp thing is to make sure you are hydrated and take your time. I have seen preggos on Space Mtn ect.. I personally would not do that..
