Does anyone know if you can get preferred viewing for the fireworks at MK and Epcot if you are a DVC member.

I have noticed some UK members saying they got this through Disney UK when they booked at a moderate or higher resort.

Can you prebook this with members services before your trip just as you would an ADR?

Sorry, there's no such perk for DVC members. I suspect that's a feature of special packages, like the ones that are sometimes sold to guests from the UK.

The preferred fireworks viewing areas are small, and they'd never hold even a fraction of the DVC members that are staying on property at any given time.

Thanks Lynne - someone said that the preferred viewing is given out on a first come first serve basis in the morning at customer services - do you know if this is correct?

During our last trip I asked about purchasing an upgrade to our park passes only to be told the "Preferred" package was available to cash " Magic Yor Way" packages only. Does that sound correct?

Just like the "Premium/Platinum packages" are available as part of a cash only package, such packages are not available to DVC members on point reservations.

It is not a park ticket media upgrade.

That doesn't sound correct. It's usually only available in special situations - for instance, when I did the Undiscovered Future World tour at Epcot, we were given access to the Illuminations preferred viewing area for that night's show.

I don't like them at Epcot - they are mostly on the wrong side.

GB, france, morocco, canada.

like the illiuiniations from mexico, norway - now this area has become very, very popular - so get there an hour before. (yea I know big waste of time)

I wouldn't get too worked up over this. At MGM the preferred seats are no better than any of the others. We did a special dinner package a few years ago that included dinner at the Brown Derby and preferred seating at Fantasmic. We've had a lot better seats than the ones we got with package by just walking in the gate 15 minutes before the show. I've been a member for 11 years and have never heard of DVC members getting preferred seating at any of the fireworks. And you can bet they would advertise it, if we did.

Not to bring up an old, possibly sore subject, but this seems like just another example of Disney catering to the possible one timer and just dismissing their most loyal patrons.:sad2:
We still enjoy our DVC and look forward to each and every visit but it just strikes me as a dumb business practice to offer "special perks" to non regular customers and punish loyal customers. Its not like I was wanting the upgrade for free, I was ready and willing to pay for the preferred seating as a special touch to our Christmas at WDW.:confused3

if you want to spend money - hire some teens to stand in your place until you get there.

give them a little money immediately the rest when you take the place.:hippie:

from what I have seem of special places - you can do better.

does anyone know where these places are at MK. i had heard was one on the second floor of the building to the side of main street.
