I've booked a preferred room at Pop in October. Have stayed at Pop before in the 50's building. I believe 60's are where the preferred rooms are...around the Hippity Dippity pool??? Anyone have a room recommendation that has stayed preferred before so I know what to request when I fax that? I would like a 4th floor room so I won't have people above me, but is that considered preferred?

We stayed in the preferred location at POP just month. We were in the 70's section. When you walk out of the food court with the pool in front of you, turn left and we were in the first building on the left. It was a pretty nice location. I can't recall the room number though, sorry!

There are preferred rooms in the 50's, 60's and 70's section of POP. Not the entire section but part of the particular bldgs..those that are closest to the pools and food court building. So you could feasibly end up in any of those bldgs...just ask for a higher up level. I've been on levels 1, 3 and 4..have yet to have any issues with people around me, either beside or above.

A few years ago I upgraded myself to a preferred and got a lovely view of the trees.................:( Now it was one of the first building after the food court on the right. So this time I'm just paying the standard and go with were ever they put me.

Is it worth paying the $100+ for a 9night/10day stay at POP?

After being put in the WORST location at POR a few years ago, I will always pay for preferred location, if available. I'm sure there aren't too many chances of being put in as bad of a location as we were in (far from lobby/food court AND closest bus stop). After long days in the park, we did want to trek back to our rooms, getting lost on the way. I also like to get up and get coffee in the morning and bring it back to the room and we were so far that it was such a pain. In a preferred location, it may not be the closest building to the lobby/food court but it's a guarantee that it won't be TOO far. I'm not sure how the layout is at POP so I can't say if the farthest room is worse than the room i was in at POR but I didn't want to chance it.

You're not paying for the view, you're paying for proximity to the lobby/food court.

:hippie: I always ask for a preferred room, over looking the Hippy Dippy pool, on the 3rd or 4th flooor. So far I have always received my request at check in. One time they wanted to stick us around the corner not over looking the pool but with a little patience on my part as well as the CM's she found us what I had orginally requested almost 6 months prior. So far this is the BEST location for my family.:thumbsup2 Hope you have a magical vacation:cutie:

don't like the preferred room - I like the lake view rooms - these are standard.

We had a lake view in February and that was really nice, but this trip is a quick weekend for just me and DD5 to attend MNSSHP so I want to be close to food & transp :) I think I'll give Hippity area on the 4th floor with a pool view and try and see what I like best. Thanks for all the tips

We are going to be staying at POP Aug. 20-29th. There is me, my husband, my ds=12, dd=10, dd=8 we have reserved 2 connectiong rooms. I was wondering if POP ever gives free upgrades to prefered rooms if their hotel is not full? When I made our reservations, I requested the closest standard rooms to the food court. Any info will be greatly appreciated!

Last trip we stayed in a corner room at the 70's building, right next to the Goofy fountain. It was very close to the foodcourt. I'm the one who got sent back to the foodcourt every night to fill the refillable mugs, after a long, tiring day in the parks, sopaying extra for the preferred room was well worth it.

I don't know about that, but I was upgraded once at ASMo, because I had booked a standard room and there were none available.
