Pre-Wash shirts?

OK, last question for this first attempts at shirts ...

Should you always pre-wash the shirts before doing the transfer?

I ask because I am trying to follow the directions that came in my package and it does not say ANYTHING about pre-washing but from what I have read on the boards it is something I need to do.

I'm one of those "follow the rules/instruction" girls and while everything else is spelled out in great detail, this is never even mentioned!

Yes, you want to be sure and prewash your shirts. Be sure NOT to use any fabric softner or dryer sheets.
