Seeing as though this is the last time we will probably be going to DLRP for a while (due to the rising costs, and wanting to save up to go to other destinations), I thought that I would write my first ever trippie!
The cast:
Me - Martin 'Dolly' Doyle 28
The beautiful missus - Becki Wynn-Werninck 23
We have had annual passes since August 08, and wanted to book a week this spring as our 'final hurrah' with them, before taking a break from DLRP to save up for WDW or DL California, and coming back in a few years. We wanted to go for this length of time, so that we could really have a chilled time
Unfortunately, we waited and waited for a decent rate on the Newport Bay to come up with the ENVIE+ magazine (We really wanted a hotel with a pool to chill in), but it turned out to be a major disappointment, with the staff at the call centre saying that the discounts didn't even exist. After a lot of upset, and fiddling with the DLRP website, we managed to find a great rate for the Hotel New York from 06/04-10-04 (with the 40% off deal) for £560, so booked it straight away! Not as long a trip, but hey, a classier hotel.
We were thrilled with this, as we have never stayed at any kind of deluxe hotel before, so it was a big thrill for us in itself.
Anyway, a day or so later, I was messing around on the internet and decided to check again on the website, just out of that silly curiousity you sometimes get to see if the rate you got has gone up or down (a very silly thing to do, admittedly), and lo and behold, it was the same price for those dates at the HNY.
And then I saw it.
Right there next to it.
Staring at me. Calling to me.
Next to the Hotel New York were the words "For £390.00 more..."
Yep...... The Disneyland hotel.
And in my mind it played, over and over, for the next few days. All I could think about was walking straight from main street into that lobby. I thought about how much I love my girlfriend, and how happy she would be to stay in a place like that. The place that so many of us have dreamt about.
And so 14/04 (the last day of the 40% discount), on my 10 minute morning break at work, I booked it!!!

WE'RE STAYING AT THE DISNEYLAND HOTEL!!!!

My missus and I both work for the same company, so at lunch we went to the pub for a bite to eat. I told her that I worry sometimes that she doesn't think I'm as romantic as I used to be when we first met (We've been together nearly 6 years), and that I hope she doesn't mind, but I have already paid for the difference to stay at the DLH, and there's nothing she can do about it!
She was thrilled, and we are so excited to be staying so close to the park, and at this beautiful hotel!
We will be flying out from Liverpool early Wednesday morning, and coming back late Sunday night (with the monday booked off work
) so it should still be a pretty chilled time being so close to our hotel room.
I spent so many hours on the trip reports board (till gone 2am) searching through other people's experiences the night before I booked this trip, and so I would like to thank everyone of those who take the time to do these reports, as they really are a source of great inspiration and information
. I am so glad you guys tipped me over into booking it!!
(I will add pictures of us to this pre-trippie soon, but I just wanted to share my excitement on the boards!)
