So this is will be the 3rd time visiting WDW for me but the other 2 times was when I was 6 and 14 so now I can revert to being a big kid :) I am however looking forward to seeing my partners reaction as she has never been before :goodvibes, were also going with her parents and brother + partner to celebrate sort of a joint 50th Birthday celebration but i digress the thing that i'm hoping will make the trip for my partner a little special is proposing at MK when the fireworks go off :cheer2:

so my question is has any one done any thing similar?

Most defiantly will but I'm hoping it will be a good report not a sad one :o

I would suggest doing it just before the fireworks go off. Line up for a photopass photo in front of the castle. When you give the photographer your photopass card whisper your plan. Then as you drop to one knee he can capture it all on film for you. You can then enjoy the fireworks together. Also don't forget to pick up just engaged badges!

Aww, that idea with the fireworks sounds sooo romantic, good luck!

What a lovely idea. :lovestruc

A friend proposed at the well on the path up to the back of the castle and we got some stunning photo's there........not the fireworks but it's a gorgeous spot...

:wizard:

in march we were seated in the "reserved" seating area at Fantasmic (F! package) and the guy next to us proposed to his girlfriend right before the show started.
He must have prepared his move before because the host for the preshow made some kind of anouncement like "someone over there has something important to say"

that was so unexpected and sweet that my wife had a little tear in the corner of her eye

still what I found less romantic was the guy's comment, two minutes later, grabbing his iphone and saying to his wife-to-be : "we can update our facebook status" ... sign of the times ...

Really saying that must kill the mood! I hope I don't make a mess of it

How romantic!

You have to remember though that the park will be really crowded/noisy just before the fireworks so choose you spot carefully :)

I know quite a few on here have mentioned watching the fireworks from the beach at the Polynesian and proposing on the sands??? :goodvibes

Either way we want lots of photos!! :yay:

Didn't think of the crowdedness i'm going in May so i'm hoping it won't be crammed :confused3

You could try and book the Wishes Dessert Party which is located on the Tomorrowland Terrace. You have your own table with an uncrowded view of Wishes. Its an all you can eat Dessert buffet full of delicious bite size desserts (cup cakes, mini key lime pies etc) You could hide the ring amongst the cakes;)

Great idea how would I go about booking it?

Thank you for that I've checked availabilty but looks like i've left it too late :sad2: any other suggestions of where I could do it are welcome :thumbsup2

Edit: Does any one know if there is a specific contact at WDW that may be able to help?

So update on trying to book something is not going well :scratchin I've emailed WDW and WDTC so waitning for a reply (not holding my breath) any suggestions are welcome :goodvibes

Officially WDW does not help with engagements. They have a list of suggested ideas on their wedding site, but nothing that you can book.

Unofficially CMs will help you though but this would probably need to be done in person on the actual day.

Thanks Chilly will bear that in mind :thumbsup2

If you want to do it in fron of the castle there is usually a photographer by the Rose Garden (off the bridge to tomorrowland) that is usual a quieter area and is a beautiful backdrop day or night.

Crowds will be busy before the fireworks any time of year.
